Well, Sir Alex said a few days ago that Ronaldo is the only one he'd spent 60m on, that kind of implies he won't spend that much on Messi and that he rates Ronaldo above Messi. Non?

barca wont sell Messi for 60 millions

so it would be stupid to say he'd spend 60 millions on a player that costs more than that

Ronaldo is for me. It's just a pity he's not an English lad. Best striker in the world. If he can win something with Portugal etc - top player. Messi is wonderful too though. It's just a pity, he won't come to England...to test himself with United obviously.

To be fair, fat Ronaldo did it against much better defenders. Messi may as well have been playing against cardboard cutouts.
 
Haha I thought it would be, I don't want him to get hurt or anything. I think he is a great player, but I think he aided by the being on Barcelona in that regard, as they are the best club in the world atm and are much better than Argentina.

Messi is playing in a better team than Big Ron did too, in my opinon.

Ronaldo didnt have Chavy, Iniesta, Ibra/Eto'o, Thierry Henry etc.
 
If you ask me whom I wanted more at United, Ronaldo all day long, both are great but I like to compare players by that perspective.

I'd take Ronnie over Messi, even though i think Messi is the best in the business right now. Ronnie is ours though. We made him what he is. So its really a no brainer.

When I said 'this' Barca team, I should probably have said that I mean the one of last year, but then it makes Messi's goal tally this year irrellevant...

I think the Barca team of last year, Xavi, Toure, Iniesta, Henry, Eto'o and Messi (even typing it out makes me think :eek:), all in the form of their life was better than the team Ronaldo played in.

henry and etoo last year where brilliant, yes! but this year etoo was at inter and henry didn't play that well, neither did zlatan yet messi managed to score as many goals as fat ronaldo did

Only the astuteness of Capello prevented Barcelona from winning La Liga that season (Real finished with 92 points and Barcelona with 90).

That Barcelona side scored 102 league goals that season. :eek:

never mind that messi scored 35 percent of the barca goals this season, because he only did it because he played with good players
