Anyone watch this?

We don't get it on TV here, I've seen a bunch of episodes on youtube.

He's funny. Great show..

I used to watch it every night back in day - havent seen it for years though

Never heard of the fella, then again i doubt many Americans know Parkinson, Frank Skinner, Jonathon Ross et al. I'm kinda guessing it's a talk show here, proabaly way off the mark.

letterman is rubbish

that bald musician is really irritating too

About as funny as a kick in the bollocks. I agree the drummer is fecking majorly annoying.

The Top 10 list things, feck me who actually finds any of that funny?

He used to great, Conan is the best right now imo. As for Leno he has a couple of cool segments but is shit for the most part

Letterman has no balls he caved to pressure from christian fundamentalist groups to not show Bill Hicks on his show

They used to show it reguarly on Sky and I dare say it can be found somewhere on the Sky system.

Frankly he is not funny.
I sent him a Top 10 reasons why he is NOT funny ......and strangely he did not broadcast it in his Top 10 segment.
It must have got lost in the post.
Paul Shafer is a strange being.......these chat shows are too much of a formula.....Jonathan Ross is a clone of the Letterman formula.

Letterman (like Wossy) is over paid and too influential.

Someitmes he is funny, most times he is crap. They laugh at lame jokes... jokes a 5 year old would make thinking they are geniouses... i guess when you have been doing it for years your bound to run out of material.

Actually Larry Sanders (Garry Shandling) was so uncannily accurate in sending up the Letterman/O'Brien/Wossy/Leno genre......that Letterman etc merely looks like a parody.

I watch it a bit but I prefer Leno. I watched Letterman the other night and Dennis Leary was on, what a knob.

Surprising. He is one of the most famous, if not the most famous chat show host around.

I usually watch the Tonight Show instead....but that's only because I don't get Comedy Central.

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Letterman reveals 'sex blackmail'

US chat show host David Letterman has confessed during a recording of his show he has had sexual relationships with female members of his staff.

"I have had sex with women who work for me on this show," he told an audience in New York, saying an attempt had been made to blackmail him over the affairs.

Letterman said "a guy" had threatened to expose the relationships unless a payment of $2m (£1.2m) was made.

CBS, which broadcasts Letterman's show, said an employee had been arrested.

It said the man, who has not been officially named, works on the true-crime show 48 Hours and had been suspended pending the results of the investigation.

The man was arrested on Thursday on charges of attempted grand larceny, CBS said.

Letterman, 62, married long-term girlfriend Regina Lasko in March. They have a six-year-old son.

'Terrible things'

"I have a little story I have to tell you," announced Letterman on Thursday, saying he was first approached by the alleged blackmailer three weeks ago.

He said he had got in his car early one morning to find a package with a letter containing proof of the "terrible things" he was said to have done.

The letter, he said, was from a man who threatened to write a book and screenplay about the veteran broadcaster unless he was given money.

On the advice of his attorney, Letterman said, he had contacted prosecutors at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.

As part of the investigation, he continued, he had issued a "phoney" $2m cheque to the person allegedly attempting to extort him.

"This morning I did something I've never done in my life," said the broadcaster. "I had to go downtown and testify before a grand jury."

In his testimony he acknowledged he had conducted sexual relationships with members of his staff.

"I had to tell them all of the creepy things that I had done," he said.

He did not say when the relationships took place or how long they lasted.

'Bizarre experience'

"The creepy stuff was that I have had sex with women who work for me on this show."

Letterman said it had been "a very bizarre experience" and that he did not "plan to say much more on this particular topic".

"I felt like I needed to protect these people," he said. "I need to protect my family. I need to protect myself [and] hope to protect my job."

David Letterman has presented The Late Show on CBS since 1993.

Prior to that he hosted a late-night talk show on rival network NBC.

After Letterman's comments, CBS said the presenter had addressed the issue during the show, and that it "believes his comments speak for themselves".

Sex blackmail, that's the only funny thing about Letterman.

He was class about 15 years ago, it's clear he doesnt really give a feck anymore

I've never understood why Letterman is so popular, compared to Leno he's just not funny.

Has anyone seen Craig Ferguson's show? That's probably the funniest American chat show imo.

craig ferguson is rubbish
awful

he is the only one that wouldnt have suffered because of the writers striker as his show clearly have none

Bullshit, how can you say that Letterman isn't funny and then in the same post say that Craig Ferguson is? :wenger:

my mate was talking about this last night so I looked it up this morn...The weirdest thing about it is how retarded his audience are...They laugh and clap at essentially everything, and at sometimes the least appropriate moments...He even stops them at one point and says "well come on how is that funny?"....and they all laugh...Absolutely retarded. It was like a bad sketch...He admits to cheating (he has a wife and child) and sleeping with members of his staff, and his audience applaud and cheer, it's quite amazing

However, good on him for doing it i suppose, it was the appropriate thing to do in that situation I feel, damage limitation at it's finest, he now looks like a hero to some extent...Just a shame his audience were so retarded it made it look like he was making light of it

Letterman still pisses all over the competition, The Daily Show is the only thing that runs him close.

Tbf Letterman often makes jokes in this deadpan way so the audience didn't know if this was a joke or not. David should've stopped them though because it clearly wasn't funny. Same thing happened when Michael Richards came to apologize for his racist rant, everybody thought it was a joke and laughed. Not really a platform for serious incidents.
