Worth a punt or total rip off?

Now for a random fact:

Dolphins can swim up to 260 m. below the surface of the ocean. However they are mainly shallow divers as they need to reach the surface to breathe

I'm pretty sure you're going to hate this film Spoony, you've mentioned hating a load of other movies that are really similar to it.

Stuff like Superbad, 40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman, basically exactly what you said yourself, American college type humour.

My sister in law (30) likes this film, but doesnt like superbad or any of the other films WP has said

It's not good, at all. It is a typical american comedy. Crap.

But don't mind me, I dislike most comedies. If I like a comedy it's despite of the humour, not because of it.

I paid to go see it in the cinema. And bear in mind i was incredibly stoned when i went to see it, but i didn't laugh once. Thought it was the most boring, pointless film i've watched in a long time.

As others have said, same sort of thing as 40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad etc.. I'd say it's not as funny as some of the others, but probably a better all round film than most of them. If it's not your sort of thing usually, this is the one I'd say you're most likely to enjoy as it relies less on the humour than the others and has a more rounded narrative.

Still, any faults are washed away thanks to Loudon Wainwright's "Daughter" being in the film. Ah lovely.

I fecking despise movie like this. Painfully unfunny "comedies" who only soulless twats who've never seen any real good movies can enjoy.

But this isn't painfully unfunny, or really in the scheme of things a comedy persay, just some funny moments here and there.

Ok, calm down mate. I could understand this sort of reaction to something like Date Movie or Meet the Spartans but Knowcked up isn't that bad.

I like this type of comedy, but Knocked Up was never really that funny. It was ok, but nowt special. Pineapple Express is probably Seth Rogen's best film

I preferred Superbad over Knocked Up if you're taking a fancy on "American College type humour". (lovely phrase).

OK, I havent seen the movie so I probably shouldnt judge it, but if it's anything like the other movies mentioned in the thread then it must be shit.

Knocked Up is only midly amusing in its very best moments and it goes on far, far too long.

That seems to be a problem of the director Apatow's-I thought the 40 year old virgin was pretty funny but it was hurt by being too long. People were complaining about the length of that Funny People movie, also directed by Judd Apatow. He should get a better editor.

I pretty much love anything with Seth Rogen in. Even enjoyed Observe and report.

Funny People - looks to be the next of this style to be released, out in England on 28th Aug

Apparently this film is really good, and also has a decent plot.

You seem to have decent taste spoony so I doubt you will like this. It is basically that fat curly haired guy acting like your stoned friend, but rather than the fun stoned friend he is the stoned friend who spends the night telling you about the whacky patterns he can see in the carpet. I'm sure seth rogen likes this film but I thought it was shit.

Alternatively i was in my local morrisons today and they had "some like it hot" for £2.99

knocked up is not the worst of what hollywood is capable of ... it's just bearable, probably because yer wan in it is alrite on the eye .

I enjoyed it, it had its moments. Some of the references to the bearded man and some of Rogens comments made me smile if I remember correctly.

It doesn't set the world on fire but it's quite entertaining.

I have no soul.
