Just listening to a christmas cd as i was putting some decorations up and i still can't decide if i like merry christmas everybody-slade, happy christmas, war is over, or fairy-tale in new york, best.
i think it 's the pogues at the moment but maybe it depends on mood.
any other favourites?

I don't particularly like Christmas songs, but the Pogues are brilliant.

Fairytale of New York is certainly the best Christmas song of modern times, in my opinion, but the best is "O Holy Night" (or whatever you English speakers call it).

we must watch different channels - i've never even seen it on vh1
Well, we have a few channels here in Norway which start and end the day with hours of music videos selected by the viewers, and Fairytale of New York is very popular when in season.

It's the best by a country mile.

Although I would say that :D

Can't really beat a bit of Bing sometimes, mind you...

I fecking love christmas, but all the songs are dogshit.

If i had to pick one.... "Proper Crimbo" or something.

But they are all shit.

Yes, no doubt.

A friend is DJing at my works Xmas do and he asked for any requests, I told him if I did not hear this at least once I would go on a drunken rampage.

'I saw three ships' is my favourite. Traditional, but homely.

Never posted in the entertainment before, but kiss my arse if it ain't.

Although Slade is publand definititive 'cos of my age. And Hark the Herald is sublime. And in In the Bleak etc is the best song ever for singing babies to sleep. Ahhhhh.

i always liked the wham one...

haha

thats like saying i prefer to be shot in the head as opposed to having my nuts stomped.

The pogues one is good but its way too overplayed.

There's so many Christmas songs I like, I've downloaded 40 Xmas songs and stuck them onto CD's, I like them all. My absolute favourite though has to be Merry Xmas Everyone by Shakin Stevens, I just love it.
I also love Proper Crimbo :D

I'd have to say the Pogues aswell - Great story in the song.

Always Liked Lonely this Christmas by MUD, great singalong when you're tanked..

It's the best, no doubt about that. And I don't even like Christmas that much.

Jona Lewie Stop the Cavalry is a good one and so is Christmas Card From a Hooker in Minneapolis by Tom Waits but you cant beat the pogues
