As per my thread in the general, about trying to think of things to keep me entertained while I am away midweek, is it worth getting one of these?

Internet and games interest me most. Music would be handy too, especially for the gym.

What else can people tell me? Or even suggest a cheaper or better alternative?

There will prob be an updated iPod Touch launched in September (or at least announced then).

I'm personally waiting for the update - rumours are that the memory will be 64Gb, faster processor and will include a camera, among other things.

I have a classic 30GB Ipod, an 8GB Touch and a PSP Slim. My favourite out of the lot was definitely the 30Gb Ipod. if its music you want I would say pick the regular Ipod(not the touch). If its games/internet and if looks are important .. pick either the PSP or the touch. I haven't endeared myself to the touch too much, besides the cool factor, its not very comfortable to use.

Expensive but very good. My son has a 16GB one and he loves it. Good for games, music and the odd bit of web surfing.

get it, great for internets games and music

I'd get the Ipod Touch. My aunt picked up one by the road as she was driving, where multiple cars already went over it. Besides a few scratches and dents it was good as new. The next James Bond gadget.

If you want to have an extensive library of music/movies then go for the iPod Classic 80/160 gig., but if you value the internet/games bit more then buy the iPod touch.

Personally, Classic >>> Touch.

Touch is so much better than the classic. I've had both, and I consider my Ipod Touch to be the best thing I've ever brought.

What kind of things do you regularly use your Touch for?

As in what is easy to use, and what would take more planning

This for me too.

I use it for everything really, e-mails, surfing the net, games, music, as a remote control for my pc, and realistically, you dont need 160Gb of music on you at all times, my ipod holds about 3000 songs (with about 30 added apps as well), thats more than enough. Also you can view pictures on there a lot better than a classic ipod, and videos too. Screen is a lot clearer as well.

Ive had the iPod touch 2g for almost a year now and its just the best gadget you can find. the 3G is believed to be out this september..

I have them both as well, and Classic > Touch.

Matter of opinion, I suppose.

The iTouch was my best ever purchase, particularly in that I can get my podcasts so easily which is vitally important during the season.
