Have you mentally checked out for this season?

Honestly I can't stomach anymore of this season after that first half against Brighton. With the leaks, the lack of fight from the players, the embarrassing level of United fans attacking each-other this season with Ole in/Ole out stuff. City and Liverpool pissing through teams and winning trophies and look clear favourites to rub our noses in it again If they win the PL/CL while we don't look like a team that can string 3 passes together.

Can't even look forward to the Atletico Madrid tie because there's just no hope anymore for this team. We need a reset now, run 12-15 players out of the club and start again. This is worse then anything we have had to experience since Sir Alex retired.

Surely I'm not the only one who's thinking like this?

I'm embarrassed to admit it but yeah I've completely checked out in a way that I've never done before. I didn't even realise that we had a match the other day until the score came up on my phone because I've just essentially checked out of football with how United have become. It's too depressing to even watch other teams at this stage so I've been concentrating on other hobbies. The worst part is that I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to watch next season either as I don't anticipate anything changing.

I could handle us not being a great team anymore, I could handle us playing in a lower division even but the complete Circus feeling around us and lack of passion, fight or leadership at pitch and boardroom level leaves me cold.

I was buzzing at the of this season. Good transfer window, Ronaldo coming home, start with winning 4-1 with Ronaldo scroing a brace. It was like a dream

Then it all goes to shit. A club legend gets raked over the coals by both media and fans (not undeservedly) we play like absolout shite and get hammered 5-0 at home by the fecking dippers. To top it of our brightest academy product in a long time turns out to be a degenerate and ruins his entire career.

Fingers crossed RR manages QL qualification, but this has been a fecking shite season

I watch games like a neutral, long gone are the days of anticipation and excitement. I am more surprised with our fleeting moments of decent football than with the vast majority of mediocrity we exhibit in game now. But….. there’s still an admittedly receding but lingering hope that Ralf will get a tune out of this team, this alone keeps me tuning in, until reality kicks in shortly after 65 minutes.

We're still in the champions league. And top 4 is still in play.

Maybe I'm just a glass half full kind of guy, but if you stop supporting the club as soon as things are rough, what kind of fan are you?

Plus there's still positives. I like seeing Sancho getting better and better every game and he could be a star for us for the next 10 years.

Also, if you stop reading or believing every leak that comes out from the media, you'll probably not feel as bleak as you might be now. Who knows how much of that is true and how much is stories made up for clicks?

I’ve checked out a little bit, not due to our results but general atmosphere around the club.

The whole Greenwood situation let me massively down. Had such high hopes for the kid and was looking forward to him leading the front line for the next 10 years. Instead, we have a massive scandal on our hands and we are down probably 100m worth of player.

In a matter of few months, our front line situation changed from apparently good to need to look for long-term striker which will probably be addressed at the cost of midfield.

Additionally, it is so clear that some of our players do not want to work hard to win games and adopt Ralf’s tactics which is another massive let down.

I'm not quite there yet. I'm holding onto the thought that we are going to somehow fluke our way to winning the Champions League.

Besides the Club's name, what else is remaining in this organization that I fell in love with back in 2002?

Pretty much. Every time I see Maguire leading us out I cringe.
Was watching the Brighton game with my mates, he won a header that landed on Fred's food, I instinctively said "NIICE", my mates are like, that's regulation. A part of me died there.

Its football, if you want to be there for the good times than you have endure the 'bad times' and its not that bad in all honesty is it, still very much in the top4 race and in the CL knockouts where anything can and has happened before.

Ideally we should fighting for the title but that's the way it is sometimes. 10 years ago we were the top dogs and City and Liverpool were looking up at us jealously, thats swapped round now but things will change again.

Whatever happens I will always support the team, and at least we have something to play for coming into the end of the season makes it interesting and exciting and surely that's what we all follow football for.

We are in the thick of fighting for Top 4 and very good chance of beating A.Madrid to advance to CL Q-Final.

We have everything to play for and the season is still very exciting. For CL, we will never know, Liverpool and Chelsea fluke it when they were not top team in PL.
This is how I feel. It’s not over till it’s over, and there is too much to play for at the moment.

This is me too. Still in shock he survived that massacre.

Me too mate, I think it’s a huge reason why our players are still under performing. If we as fans feel that the owners don’t care where we finish. I am sure the players also feel that their bosses don’t care how they perform and have stopped caring too.

Feck me … some posters in here should try supporting a non premier league club, then you’ll know what pain really is.

Checking out because you’re going through a difficult time is pretty pathetic. At your worst you’re still better than every other club in the UK bar maybe 5!

I was already half way checked out from how disappointed I have been in the season. But the greenwood stuff made me totally check out completely. I go to matches but more for the experience than caring about the lot. Only one I care about is Ronaldo for sentimental reasons.

I havent checked out, but like many i'm so so tired of the never ending list of problems.

We've been in decline for years and the current squad is the worst i've ever seen in terms of professionalism, consistency and desire to do well.

We have a really really poor mentality of player here at the moment, the worst in a long long time. Some of that is down to how the club is run and how we recruit players, some of it is down to the players themselves just not being arsed.

I'll sum up briefly why we are where we are.
Maguire is our captain. If he's the dressing rooms inspiration then that says a lot.
We think we can win/control games by playing McTominey in central midfield.
Our goalkeeper is our best performer by a country mile in every single game we play.

So we havent got the right quality of player, and certainly dont have enough players with the right mentality.

Half our players are like robots, after every desire performance you can almost guarantee Rashford, Shaw and co will hammer twitter with the usual tripe "we can do better, we mist perform". Well just do it!

The Greenwood situation has also not been great, again you have to question the mentality in and around the squad. We are rightly a bit of a joke at the moment.

The most technically gifted Midfielder we have has been allowed to leave and we continue with McTom/Fred who combined make 1 half decent player.

The tactics dont seem to be working for Ralf, and it's clear why. Our players just do not respond to coaching. They stopped working for Jose, stopped working for Ole and havent even started working for Ralf. Our core group of starters are a waste of space.

Watching us is painful this year

No way. Rangnick is doing an excellent job here.

I firmly believe we will be in the best place since SAF retired come next season, if everything goes to plan for him.

Maybe after the UCL. I’m so done with all the players, don’t think there’s many I like as football players. They’re all frustrating and technically inept. Not sure how anyone finds entertainment from seeing every club in the league out play us

Got abuse for opening this thread weeks ago from some but bet you most of you have done so now.

Worst season in PL memory, we have been embarrassing all season

Worse than Mourinho's third season or Moyes'?

But yeah, I have checked out completely. If United aren't taking this seriously, why should I?

I hate to admit this but I am not really that invested in watching the rest of the season. I just keep expecting the worst in each game. Champions League is our main hope now and thats an impossible dream.

Only Moyes season compares but I always had a bit of hope with the players we had then. I've nothing for this group of players it needs a complete reset

10-15 players need to leave

I switched off with 30 mins to go. First time in 30 yrs I've ever done that. For whatever reason, just couldn't be bothered to watch. Just sat here checking progress on BBC sport. Its not that we get beat, its just the mindless performances and how unlikeable the players appear. If they can't be arsed, then why should we.

Was at my mums talking about nonsense, when the game kicked off. Went to the off licence to get more beer before going home to watch.

It was 2-1 by the time I turned it on and the derby had been on for 32 mins.

I never miss a minute normally, so yes, I think it’s fair to say I’ve checked out.

The caf isn’t even on my daily browsing list anymore.

Honestly there was a 15 minute period you missed were City had 92% possession and we didn't even attempt to get the ball back. Neville said they were "an absolute shower". I think they just wanted to avoid conceding another six.

Not only me, the players as well. That second half was embarrassing, yes City is a better team, better players, better squad, better coached, but they also work their ass off while we walking round the pitch.

Feck this team and our spineless players.

Long time ago, not sure if it’s still a knock on from covid reducing my interest in the game, or this being such a terrible time for united. Also got a young family now and really can’t justify sitting through 90 minutes of such terrible football that gives me no enjoyment l.

Think I did when Ole wasn't sacked when he should have been after the first set of defeats at the start of the season. We are barely uefa conference quality.

I’m not sure that we ever checked in, but if we did, I think the 2-3 loss against Leicester was the moment: we were up 1-0, got down 1-2, equalized to 2-2, but then conceded the the third quickly. We never recovered!

Happy to see all our issues so exposed. Makes it easier to bid adieu to all the crap we've signed over the years.

Mentally, yes. But, I'll still watch every game and go through the motions. I feel like I'm doing my bit, I just wish the players would do theirs.

Definitely emotionally checked out. This team has beaten out of me all enjoyment of football. They don't care, so why should we? The worst is I'm not even upset by today. This is what they've brought me to.

I watch every game despite my brain telling me to avoid avoid avoid!

I think we are in for years more of this shit. It will only change once our owners and all the board are replaced. Unfortunately it won’t happen and we are also stuck with some seriously shit players.

We could easily go another 26 years without a title. (Including the 9 already).

I honestly hand on my heart cannot fathom any reason why any top manager or player would want to come and work for this club unless for financial reasons.
