I'm really looking forward to each game week. I'm also looking forward to watching the youth team knock out fixtures against Dortmund and Leicester in the Uefa youth league and FA youth Cup. And whether we make the top 4 or not is irrelevant to me because i'm excited to see how things evolve with a new head coach who will hopefully come in and work with the clubs newly formed recruitment structure, rather than what we saw before where the likes of Van Gaal, Mourinho and Solskjaer would state in interviews about them handing a list of transfer targets to the board. And they (managers) did that by being afforded the control on the football side of the club as well as having the luxury of having their own scouts.
The first time in our history we're gonna go into a new season with a DoF model, and the DoF has a team with him that has vast experience both at home and abroad. People like Court and Lawlor at home and Bout and de Regt abroad. And then we'll also have a assistant coming in who will add to the group working with Murtough and the aforementioned four. And that assistant could be someone from one of Rangnick's previous clubs, people like Christian Mockel or 35 year old Christian Vivell who is currently assisting the RB Leipzig DoF, Krosche. So for myself i'm intrigued to see how things develop and i'm very upbeat for all our teams from the youth to the first team.
I also understand people being frustrated with the season after the signings we made in the summer. But for me we're gonna make strides now and the structural setup gives me a lot of hope for the future. It's not gonna be easy with Chelsea, Liverpool and state backed City to contend with, and there will be bumps in the road. But as long as we streamline the football operations, then i'm very optimistic about our mid to long-term prospects. But we need the head coach to come in and click with the decision makers on the football side of the club.
