Anyone else seen this? Got it on copied DVD off a mate last nite and thought it was brilliant. feckin hilarious at times but also serious and sad at times. Good story line even tho at the start (first 15 mins or so) i was like 'where the hell is this going'??!! Eastwood is excellent in it. Def recommend it.

I'm going to see it tonight at the cinema - been waiting fora few weeks to see it so I'm really looking forward to it!

You'll definately enjoy it mate. Kinda wish now that i had gone to the cinema to see it. The copy was a good quality but seeing it on the big screen is hard to beat! Quality film tho.

Absolutely brilliant flick & as Pancho says "feckin hilarious at times but also serious and sad at times..." it most certainly is!

You'll love it JG - its the best show i've seen in a while. I went to the cinema to see it & the atmosphere was unreal, it was like watchin Borat again as everyone was laughin out loud!

There's a retired Dirty Harry feel about it!

Brilliant - i can't wait now!!!

Saw this a while back and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth seeing.

It's good in parts but I thought some of the acting was a bit pants (to be expected maybe considering many of them were unprofessional). Clint was cool as always though and has some great quotable lines! Very enjoyable.

Yep i know what you mean, i thought some of the acting from the young brother and sister was a bit dodgy but it was a minor blip on a great film. Even if the whole film was about Clint Eastwood walking around grumpy as feck being a racist it would still be worth watching just for the comedy! But its a lot more than that.

Agreed. Especially from the brother, but I really enjoyed the movie regardless.

Good, definitely worth the ticket price, but I couldn't help comparing it to Million Dollar Baby.

Would agree with that, but still one of the best films I have seen for a long time.
I did cringe at some of the racist comments though!

Well I finally got to see the movie - I thought it was brilliant.

A slow starter but once its up and running it's a top film. I think th eposters above me have covered the main points about it having you laughing one minute and the next feeling quite sad.

I'd read a comment about people not moving for a moment or two after the film and this exact thing happened last night - its amost as though you need a moment to take in what you've just watched.

I'd recommend this to anyone!

They did that at the showing I went to. I thought there might be an additional scene after the credits but I couldn't be bothered to wait.

Finally watched this yesterday.

It was pretty good, but at the same time I found it very difficult to watch. The character Eastwood plays is such an awkward/tragic git I felt uncomfortable with the idea of him coming out of his shell. Same with the younger brother as well, but for different reasons.

Some of the acting, and even a couple of the scenes were just hilariously bad, but overall it's pretty well put together. I liked

Loved it personally...it's definitely a slow burner but once you get into Clint's performance it's immense. Go Clint Go!...It is the natural sequel to Dirty Harry in a way. He's essentially a racist Harry Callaghan

Good but not great. Too many hackneyed, over-blown cliches for characters.

Really enjoyed this movie.

I saw it this week too. Clint was brilliant in it (as an actor) but I think its one of his weakest movies of late(directorially). The performances of the Hmong kids and the priest were pathetic and laughable at times. They were all first time actors but I'm sure the casting could have been better.

The racism was a tad too much though ... not that I was offended but I can see how some Asians might be. But I guess that was the message that the movie. Racism is through actions and not words. What I really liked about this movie is how Clint fecking Eastwood is still a convincing action star at the age of 78. When he growls 'Get off my lawn!!' ... goosebumps. Way to go Clint.

Looking forward to 'Invictus' .. coming out this year.

In totally unrelated news .. I got myself two vintage posters of 'High Plains Drifter' and 'Bite The Bullet' from an antique store. My wall looks way cool right now. :p

Gran Torino was a good film, but as a whole it's nowhere near as good as some will tell you it is. It's ALL about Clint though, anybody else starring in this and it'd probably be an average film at best. But with his persona and this performance it got hyped up as Eastwood's "The Searchers". Agree with Red Hope, his acting was superb, directing a little weaker (though by no means bad).
