Anyone got an invite handy? Curious to see what it's about. If you have an account how is it?

Been testing it all day today. Its quite remarkable. It will probably end up changing the concept of email and forums at some stage.

Cool. If you get a few invites left over send one my way. Bugging all of my friends who have it too see what it's about. :D

From what I've seen, it merges email, IM, social networking, file sharing, etc. It looks like it'll be geared towards business types working on projects all over. It's open sourced, so people in the beta can tweak and help make it better.

Here's a quick blurb from wiki:

Google Wave is "a personal communication and collaboration tool" announced by Google at the Google I/O conference on May 27, 2009.[1][2] It is a web-based service, computing platform, and communications protocol designed to merge e-mail, instant messaging, wikis, and social networking.[3] It has a strong collaborative and real-time[4] focus supported by extensions that can provide, for example, spelling/grammar checking, automated translation among 40 languages,[2] and numerous other extensions.[4] Initially released only to developers, a "preview release" of Google Wave was extended to nearly 1 million users beginning September 30, 2009, with the initial 100,000 users each allowed to invite from twenty to thirty additional users.

The guys who created it are the ones who designed the program that became Google Maps.

Have a look at Vodafone 360, similar kind of principle in a few ways, but more consumer orientated.

www.360.com

the site is still being developed i think.

I have started to use it in my office for work with my colleagues, initial impressions are that it is good

I've got an invite, but I request Kaush and jatin fight to the death to decide who gets it

Its cool to play with for a day or two...but there are still loads of bugs in the system. I think this could replace or at the very least compete with web forums once the full version is launched.

PM me for an invite. In another forum I'm on they can't give them away.

I've PMd three fellas on there for an invite. I've zero interest in it myself, so once they reply the invites will be up for grabs.

Wait, if I join myself will I get invites to give out? just dawned on me that it could be easier than giving your emails out elsewhere.

It gets old after a few hours, unless of course you have a group of more than three to collaborate with.

Google Wave is actually very good, we are using it in our search optimization office at the moment and it works pretty well. We do have quite a lot of contact with Google directly so I guess we can always complain
