Gareth Bale Transfer Speculation | Done

I called Rooney, Bale swap long ago. However, I'd agree with Glaston - I'd also not be happy with the deal if I was a Spurs fan, or more importantly Daniel Levy.

I have a friend that's a spurs supporter that's on the verge of a suicide and it has nothing to do with me texting him taunts all day :)

Shame really. There's a lot of potential at Tottenham.

No shame really, the money you'll need to spend on the type of player which will help you make the jump from top 4 contendor to championship contenders is hardly justifiable from a business point of view as there's no guarantee that it'll pay off.

But you'll never keep him. So it doesnt matter what he becomes because he wont be your player

You'd take Rooney at almost any cost because he's been the title holders best striker for many many years and Levy wouldnt give a crap what you think about it.

GlastonSpur has no idea what Levy would think, but you do?

There's not a chance Spurs will bring Rooney in for Bale considering he'd be earning more than twice what everyone else would be on. Glaston, despite his constant idiocy, is right here.

No doubt Rooney would be a huge coup for the Spurs, but not at that price.

Rooney won't be at Spurs, but I wouldn't imagine it would have anything to do with them not wanting him. It wouldn't get as far as them getting the option, he'd never go there.

Rooney wouldn't entertain the idea of going to Tottenham, that much is obvious.

On Bale, as talented as he is, we should still be prioritising a midfield signing. Then I'd be happy to see us test Tottenham's resolve. I maintain we'll get Bale, but I think next summer is more likely.

Rooney's no left foot anyway... :)

He wont need to think

Bale hasn't been offered a huge contact. He is the reigning PoTY and is better/fitter/younger and doesn't come with the baggage that Rooney does. What's more is he is already their talisman.

If you truly think Spurs will pay Rooney the crazy cash he is on, after the season he has had, then you have rocks in your head. If United paid 60% of his wages then that would be a different matter.

It'd be worth it for the worldwide exposure they'd gain. At the end of the day, Spurs are a Europa League team that sees finishing fourth as a crowning achievement. Rooney would boost their profile by leaps and bounds.

Worth the £250k p/week, or whatever he's on?

Bale is becoming a player who matches up to Rooney at his peak and is extremely marketable too.

If people are going to post rumours from shite like the mirror and the Daily Star can you at least copy and paste it in here so we don't have to give them the pageviews?

He will be offered a huge contract if needed and they are determined to keep him. Its just not needed until someone puts in a big bid for him

Spurs are trying to hold onto their best players and thats what it takes. Especially as Rooney would ensure them at least champions league football and that would allow him to pay for himself.

Its a no brainer, Levy would snap our hands off for Rooney

Why all this Rooney talk. He's not goin Spurs leave these swap deal talks. Not going to happen. Don't see how we could have room for both players though.

In contrast to purely invented media stories that curiously never contain any actual quotes or named sources, Bale has just said the following about AVB:

"We have a great relationship. Last season we had a great campaign and obviously we came up short but we had a great working relationship on and off the field. We chatted quite a lot about tactics and stuff like that. He definitely got the best out of me last season and hopefully can again (my emphasis)."

What, I wonder, can the transfer muppets find here to chew on?

Maybe one day, AVB will join Bale at united?

Rooney going there, Bale coming here.... It's all bollocks mate. Why discuss any of it?

If Bale joins United this Summer I'll bare my cheeks on Bolton Town Hall steps. Unless we pay silly money that is (upwards of 80mil).

That doesn't make sense. Bale is coming off a better and more productive season. Yet if you take him out, and put an out of touch Rooney in instead, suddenly they are certainties for the CL?

People are starting to invent these convenient little scenarios that make little sense.

It's all because of Woodward and his all round shitness.

Its far from impossible and I'm sure no one wants to see your butt cheeks.

Its one season. And yes, Rooney would easily get Spurs the goals they are missing

Would love Bale to come but we will only move for him if Rooney is sold. Giggsy can talk him into it i'm sure.
Would like to hear from Rooney, he has said nowt, the fans need to know what is happening. If he wants to go let him go but not to rent boys.
Fabregas looking doubtful now so to modric next then on to James Mccarthy. Moyes needs a signing. Time running out for fellaini too.

Wow every player-specific thread has been derailed into being about another player over the last few days :D

Rooney would never, ever sign for Spurs. Ever. Not really worth discussing i don't think!

No, it's a shame for the Tottenham fans who probably don't care about the business point of view. They just want to see their team win something.
