I think Bale will move on next summer personally, and I do think he'll join United too for what it's worth. Just don't see him moving this summer, mind you surely Tottenham could get more for him now, seeing as he'd be a year younger?

23 or 24. Nah, if they can get 80 mil for him this year, they can get the same or more (if he co.tinues to develop and does a ronaldo around that age).

More than his age, its how he performed last year. They could get truckloads of cash for him now. But I do agree with Glaston, no way is levy selling him on this summer. If he did, Bale would have to want to come only to us for it to happen because I dont see us outbidding Real.

has Bale renewed is contract? and how long is his contract with Tottenham?

And they might just do that. Madrid have shown in the past they don't care for that extra 20 or 30 million if that gets them who they want.

I wouldnt put it past them. Real are always free with how much they are willing to pay, Levy is a right bastard when it comes to getting the last pound out of a transfer. I wouldnt be surprised if he went for 70mil or so. Only Real and the 2 french clubs would pay that though.

Genuinely believe £45 to £50 million is a fair fee for him, and his actual value.

Real have just paid 35mil for Illaramendi. That should tell you how open they are with their money when they want a player. They operate at a level unlike anyone bar the 2 french clubs.

Madrid already stated earlier in the summer that they would be prepared to break the world record for him.... so yes it seems that 80 is a realistic sum, at least from Spurs point of view. The rest of us are whutlol??!!??!

exactly.

I doubt anybody here would complain if we got him for 50-60mil though.

What reason do Spurs have to sell their best player for his actual value as opposed to above his value? You don't sell your prized possessions at their actual value unless you're desperate and they're not desperate.

The only way he goes is if he submits a transfer request and Spurs get a fee which matches their valuation.

I'm convinced Levy would rather wait a year and sell to Madrid for £50m next summer rather than sell to United for any price this summer. The Modric-Chelsea saga is a prime example and Spurs are in a much better place than they were in 2008 with Berbatov (the deal which soured any kind of relations we had with them at corporate level).

If we sold Rooney for about £40m I don't think we'd have any qualms about smashing the world record for Bale.

It would be a massive statement of intent and one the club would probably feel they had to make.

Some of you seem to have misinterpreted what I perceive to be his actual value and the fee he'll likely go for. Two different things, lads.

There's nothing like true value when it comes to transfers.

£50-55m is a fair price, but he'll end up going for around 60-65m IMO. The major question is if we'd be prepared to pay that if we knew that he wants to stay in England and we are his only chosen destination. I'd personally have no problem with us paying that sort of fee. His signing wouldn't only improve us on the pitch, but massively off the pitch too.

Well you said they wouldn't be able to get 80 million for him. I showed you some quotes from a Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime who conducts transfers for madrid and openly said a world record.fee for him would be normal...

Higuain, Cesar, Sahin, M'Vila...
Higuain is going to leave if Madrid drop their silly demands, we're not paying Cesar £90K a week to sit on the bench, we turned down Sahin since RM wanted silly loan fee, M'Vila has never been a target.

A lot of our transfers haven't been extortionate fees.

Sure. Am not saying all transfers need to be mental. What am saying is that there's nothing like true value because fees are totally dependent on the buyer and seller. To just take Bale for example, his value to different clubs would be different. Say Madrid, us, Barca and Bayern. The first 2 would pay a good amount to get him, the later 2 wont. For Barca and Bayern, even 50mil wont be value for Bale.

If we value Rooney at £40m, offering him to a striker deprived Spurs, plus £30m, would give Levy his £70m deal. It would solve a problem for both clubs, admittedly they'd be losing Bale a year early, but would they attract a striker of Rooney's quality next year?

Rooney would not sign for Spurs

How many more people we're hugely unlikely to get can we go for? I think we should go for David Silva. Or Neymar. He hasn't done anything for Barcelona yet, they're bound to consider offers.

If only Woodward was as wise as you.

Do people really believe this shite.

Nah, course not. United are only a little club; there's no way we'd be interested in a player of Gareth Bale's standard. Well, we might be interested, but that means feck all to a small club such as ourselves - we're dreaming if we think lowly Manchester United will ever try to buy one of the best players in England!

The problem in that theory would be that rooney would probably rather go back to everton than play for sperz.
