Gareth Bale Transfer Speculation | Done

I get that but even if you finished 4th every season that's not enough. I'm not saying he's guaranteed to join us, infact it will take a massive offer on our part but surely in the next year or 2 he will be at a top club.

It's like Groundhog summer. Same shit from Glaston every time.

Same shit eh? Mostly I've predicted that Spurs will be there or thereabouts when it comes to top 4 ... and mostly I've been right.

Talk of improvement and how great Spurs will be. Nothing changes. You're still behind them same teams you have been for the last three years. And will be again.

I actually don't mind Spurs as a club, and wouldn't mind seeing them do well, if it weren't for Glaston and how fecking tedious he is.

I guess Chelsea didn't finish below us the season before last then.

And yes, talk of improvement that's justified: for example, last season was our highest points total in the Prem.

All you seem to do is come out with an endless stream of poster-insults. Why not give it a rest? Because it doesn't do you any favours.

If one of those teams who are better than you sacrifice their league form for a European campaign you may get lucky again. I doubt it though. It wouldn't matter what happened last season. You'd still be overrating Spurs like you always do. Hence the initial comment. No use having more points if the teams around you also have more points. It suggests a weakening at the other end of the table as opposed to your own improvement.

I'm not insulting you, I'm pointing out how tedious your posts are. You're constantly wumming about United, with no real basis. It's endless, and it makes people who otherwise probably wouldn't mind Spurs want to see them fail. You draw a lot of stick your way with your tedious attitude on here. It does you no favours.

On topic, I don't think Bale will move this year, but at some point he'll want to win major trophies. If Spurs don't give him the chance to do that (they won't) he'll go somewhere that does.

I see, so what happened to your comment on Spurs "You're still behind them same teams you have been for the last three years"?

Has it now been replaced by "you got lucky"? And if so, I guess our previous top 4 finish was just "lucky" also ... not to mention reaching the CL QFs the following year.

Since you're the one who talks about the "same old shit", I'll tell you what actually is the same old shit from posters like you: the perennial assumption that the top 4 won't ever change. But I've news for you: it has changed twice in recent seasons, first with Liverpool dropping out and then with Chelsea ... and Spurs were the team that pushed them out both times.

Everton did that once too. Doesn't mean anything. You're underestimating how difficult its going to be to break into the top 4 this season. I like Spurs. But I can't see them finishing ahead of us, City, Chelsea or even Arsenal for that matter. Heck, I wouldn't bet on our chances in the top 3 either.

Bale has admitted that he thinks Ronaldo is the best player.. he clearly looks up to him, tries to imitate him and has shown interest already in starting his own brand and becoming somewhat of an icon.

Would simply being in the Champions League be enough for him Glaston? Plenty of players have left teams who constantly compete in the Champions League because they want to challenge for titles and have a good chance at winning the league.
Bale seems ambitious from the interviews we've seen. He may enjoy being part of this project, hoping to get Champions League football to White Hart Lane - enjoying that he is the big fish, enjoying the praise and awards - but how long will that satisfy him?

If he wants to imitate Ronaldo and be up there considered as one of the best in the world - would he really stay at Spurs?
If he wants to become a global icon and have a following and be marketed - would he stay at Spurs?
Generally, the players considered the best play for the best teams. The players who are most marketable play for the best team.

Maybe he could be the exception.. But I doubt it - I'm sure he could do well staying at Spurs, but I think he has ambitions higher than that.

I definitely believe it's a question of 'when?' and not 'if'.

I don't see Bale really pushing to leave at all. He's a very down to earth guy, he knows how good he is, and he knows what he has to work on. I think it'll frustrate him that he's not playing in the CL, but he has time on his side.

Watch all that fall on deaf ears now.

He does? At 24 years of age? Really? He's entering his prime now. If he doesn't showcase his talent at the biggest stage during his peak years, he might as well forget about being considered up there with the great players.

Come off it. I could easily quote from several of your posts in the last 2 days alone that do precisely that - both to me and several other posters too.

If you want to talk about football, then fine. But often you bang on about the poster instead .... just as you are doing now.

I cant help but wonder if spurs did sale bale for 80 odd million (probably not to us at that price) and spent it on say 2 good players like say higauin & lamella plus strengthened the squad with the likes of sakho, hughes, shaw then perhaps they would genuinley look like a top 4 team as it strength in depth seems to be a bit of an issue

2 more years at Spurs to see how they're getting along, and then if they're not where he needs them to be, he'll move abroad I think. I don't think anywhere in England will appeal massively to him.

By behind I meant they were better teams than Spurs.

I haven't said the top four will never change but if I'm putting money on it I'd be backing the same top four as last season. My initial post was me saying it's the same shit from you every year. It is. A simple search has you creating a thread saying Spurs would finish fourth above City in 2011. Guess what happened?

He'd be giving them some of his prime years then. And I don't think doing a great job at Spurs is the same as doing a great job at a bigger club. Why do you think he won't stay in England?

A lot of what is said about Bale and wanting to move to further his career is true but it must be tiring for rival fans to constantly hear about how we are the best club, we have all these trophies, your club is smaller than ours bla bla bla as a response to everything. It doesn't make for good reading and it just appears really childish.

So do you deny deliberately trying to antagonise people on here, particularly United fans, as if Spurs are our rivals?

You'll not find many posts over the lasts few days having a go at the poster rather than the post, other than you. But then, you draw that ire with your deliberate attempt to wind people up. You've been at it in transfer threads for days now. Transfer threads that don't interest you other than to take the piss out of the United fans posting in them.

Spurs are a big club. I don't buy into this business that it's not as hard to do it at Spurs.

It looks pretty tough to drag a PL side to dozens of results single-handedly. He fought so hard last season to win them games the other 10 players had no right to win.

It comes as a retort to people talking shit about our club. It shouldn't as a surprise to them. If people were genuinely trying to spark debate then they probably wouldn't get the same response. Glaston has brought any shit on himself with his half arsed wumminh and slagging Utd will holding Spurs up as some kind of perfect football club.

Most of it is in response to these opposition fans trying to act the smart arse and the billy big balls over United, as if they have some claim to be able to ridicule United, when they'd bust their balls to be half as successful as we are. See Glaston, Pete etc in some of the transfer threads over the last few days. A Spurs fan and an Arsenal fan uniting to tell United fans that United are desperate, a joke and a laughing stock is only going to get one response. "Get your medals out".

Bang on. I find it odd that I have to defend Spurs but this is a big club with 40k supporters being treated like some non-league pub team.

We finished 5th instead - so what?

I haven't said I've predicted our exact finishing position each season. Here's what I did say: "Mostly I've predicted that Spurs will be there or thereabouts when it comes to top 4 ... and mostly I've been right".

Very interesting hearing the twitter reports of players plus cash for Bale. I'm assuming one of those players would have been Nani who might be the other(s)?

Rooney plus cash is definitely a no go and if that's the case how much would spurs most likely be wanting for an all cash deal? 60+mil?

Interesting if the rumors about us having offered spurs a p/ex deal is true. Who could the players be?

EDIT: That's fecking creepy KanieKaned.

And yet you think he'll stay? To endure more of the same? Instead of moving somewhere where he can share the load with other, better players and also win some trophies for a change? The only silverware Spurs can get realistically is the Capital One cup and the FA cup if they get really lucky. Bale must have aspirations of winning the Ballon d'or. I'm not sure that's going to happen if he stays at Spurs.

To be honest, I, and most other fans, support our teams not because of the amount of trophies but because we're brought up to support them. It strikes me as being very odd to show off about how many trophies your team has won when a) you have nothing to do with their success and b) the reason some fans support their teams is because of the fact they've won a lot of trophies.

I have never understood the 'achievement' feeling in football. If Arsenal do well, great. If we don't, I'll still support them. The amount of trophies I have to show off about on an internet forum is of immense indifference to me.

I don't know how many more times I have to say this. Same shit. Different year. Always talk of how Spurs are improving. In reality you aren't. You're no closer to regularly qualifying for the Champions League than you've ever been.

The word 'endure' is a strange one. Being hailed as a hero on 100k a week? I don't think Bale endures anything.

Well exactly it just goes round in circles. The only goal is to slag the other club off and not talk about something worthwhile. Glaston can be a smug twat but I still find the "my club is bigger than your club" themed response really boring and unnecessary, especially as in reality every fan in England knows we are a huge club. No need to ram it down people's throats at every opportunity.

Your problem is that you can't seem to accept that criticism of your transfer policy under Moyes so far might actually be legitimate. So you go all defensive-aggressive, trot out a medals haul as if that's the end of all discussion and dismiss everything as "wumming".

 knew Pete and Glaston would upset the lesser lights on here
Obviously big names like yourself wouldn't stoop to responding.

Pete is alright, he has a sense of humour and takes plenty of stick too. His wumming gets a bit boring, but moreso because of the genuine bites he gets. I like him though, always have. And he knows his football, despite his bitterness.

Glaston is a bit different, probably because of how arrogant and superior he comes across, when as a Spurs fan he has no reason to feel superior to United.

None of them annoy me, but it's clear they annoy many in the threads they post in, and it makes the particularly thread they've chosen to WUM in a bit of a shit read. It's no surprise Glaston got banned from the United forum.

So he's happy to stay that way? Because there, he isn't going to be anything but that. He'll have nothing to show but the adulation he's received from a set of supporters. I can't believe that's the ceiling of his ambitions.

So's Zidane.. what does that mean when coming to making a decision about your career. I really think he knows its time to move however if you want him you are going to have to cough up.
