Gaming Fifa 2009

I just ripped a Barca speed merchant to shreds with Villa -- 6-2. I'm online if anyone's up for a game.

I can't stand fecking dickheads who hack you when you're 1 on 1...

Sweet Jesus yes, they're the only players I'll disconnect on. It's pretty much cheating.

The game just pisses me off online though, as good as it is now, there are still a lot of flaws. A lot of people have perfected that shot from kick off and always manage to score it, the only way to stop it is to run with your player and hope they block it but that only works half the time.

The passing is annoying too, sometimes it does a through ball even though you only fecking pressed x, and sometimes a pass goes to a completely different player than you specified, and player selection is annoying to, I can tap L1 about 50 times and it'll go to every player other than the one I want.

what do you mean hack? what happens?

in ultimate team when i play a match if i then go to make a sub it would freeze as the team management screen is half way up, this happens everytime, its left me with a considerable amount of leaving of games.

im not sure how to cross good though, i see some player cross and it goes straight to their player n the box with speed and he heads it in, whenever i try to cross its either along the floor or way to lofted and to slow

Think he's talking about when the other team's defenders deliberately foul you to stop you from scoring.

Sounds like a problem with your disc, try saving it to your hard-drive.

I was 2-1 down and the guy was only beating me because I tackled his striker with my defender and some reason my defender stops and he runs through AFTER I tackled him. It's the 85th minute I'm one on one about to pull the trigger and the fecker hacks me and he eventually wins.

I haven't had a goal scored against me straight from kick off, many try it but they fail miserably.. does it actually work?

Yeah. Even if i was a big enough turd to want to do it, it seems far too much effort.

I still am surprised you play as Reading, respect for that.

I play as Reading because i wanted to chose a club that were around 3 stars because it makes it more fun and i chose Reading in particular because i quite like them, mainly down to Steve Coppell.

The game rewards dickheads and punishes those who try to play it the right way really.

yeah, but i have only had one chap who could do it against me and it was annoying as feck, everytime i went ahead he scored directly from the kick off

i hate people who celebrate their goals like cnuts and watch all the replays, fecking wankers they are

How is it cheating or any different to a REAL football match to hack someone down when they're 1 on 1!?

In the game, just like in real, if someone is through 1 on 1, and is hacked down, especially from behind, 9 times out of 10 you'll be shown red.
And it's not like it doesn't happen in real football where people do last minute tackles and have a player of theirs sent off by giving a freekick rather than a clear 1 on 1 chance?!
Solskjaer against Newcastle anyone?!

I don't understand people moaning about stuff like this? This is all part and parcel of football!

If people moaned about how strikers are not good at taking control of lobbed through balls I'd understand, but people moaning about something that is such a big part of REAL football, i.e last man fouls or tackles which in the game just like in real, are punished by sending offs 9 times out of 10. Then I don't get it.

And of course if you're leading 2-1, Champions League final, 87th minute, and the opposition is through on goal but not yet in the pen box, heck I'd hack the fellow down and risk the free kick and take the sending off..

You sound like someone who likes to enjoy the game a bit much like me. Up until all the transfers where Doyle and Duberry were still at Reading it was all fun, but that's not looking like it'll get updated in the game..

So for a good 3 star team, or 2 1/2 depending on form, I've discovered Cardiff City. And one of their strikers, Quincy, is pretty pacey and handy. They've got a great balance. Of course no one's as good as running at people and close control as Stephen Hunt is for Reading down that left flank, but Cardiff i've discovered are awesomely fun to play with....

Which is why they have the right analog stick :)

Point into the direction in regards to which player you want chosen. trust me, that's a huge huge huge help, and I've not used L1 to select my player in a long time when defending. Right analog stick is such a help..

Without wanting to sound like I'm up on my high horse or a know it all of the game..Here's a massive tip out there to people who have trouble defending..

Most of the time I hardly select the player closest to the ball intentionally. I usually select a player who is covering another man or waiting to intercept a pass that the opposition is about to make. Have your 'extra pressure/double team' button pressed to have the computer send another man on to pressure the player with the ball... That way you're controlling someone who is able to intercept a pass or cover another player, while the computer closes down or puts pressure on the player with the ball. That's a huge huge help in the game!

Yeh a few people have played as Cardiff against me and that Quincy is fecking rapid!

Was playing a bit as Newcastle yesterday doing some giant killing, Owen was on fire! :)

I miss Ole :(

Because a sending off doesn't even have as much impact as it could/should have.

Exactly. A sending off has feck all input on the game really, especially if it's done when there's about a minute of playing time left. If EA change the dynamics for FIFA 10 so that they have more of an impact and it really helps, then that's fine but at the moment, getting a player sent off is a very small price to pay for denying the opposition a goal.

Alright, created a league.. it's called Redcafe and the password is thecaf - join caftards, i'm bored as feck

well then blame the rules of Football, not EA or the people who hack others down!

cause let's face it...if there's a minute of playing time left in a real football match...and someone hacks the other person down outside of the box, but through on goal...same argument could be applied there!?

I always find playing with 10 players is a major handicap!

Though I see where you are coming from. In real life the player has other things to think about such as missing the next game, and being targeted by the press, so he may think twice about it. Online it is easily the best option and has no repercussions if you do it in the last minute. Perhaps if the game remembers this and stops you from using that player next time you use that team online? Dunno.

So, you're point is that the game should include all the shit sides to football, even though ... it's a game, and it's supposed to be fun

Well, that's where you and I differ though.. I like my games to be as close to the real thing as possible...

You might find professional fouls as something shit..i find it as part and parcel of football..

You're right about that...I would love for it if EA could incorporate suspensions etc.....

but too complex to incorporate that I guess....

I'll tell you what annoys me with the game nowadays more than anything..Just the people online who have their teams filled with Ronaldo, Torres, Messi, Evra, Kaka, Ibrahimovic etc etc..

If people MOANED about that..then I'd get it..but then again..I find it FUN and love it when I actually beat those twats....

That's my main gripe at the moment. It's pathetic, and also worrying that Florentino Pérez isn't the only mental fantasy muppet out there.

my main annoyance from this game is the quitters, just played someone who quit after i scored in the 10th minute, cmon there is most of the game to go. Havent seen anyone with a superteam yet.

What's the name and password of the league and I'll join after I finish this match...
