I remember watching an interview with John Cleese about turning down offers to do some live Python Shows about 10 years ago. He said that nobody wants to see a bunch of old men prancing about and acting stupid.

It's alright now but they do look a bit silly considering their age, and their humour seems to have just become making childish faces and weird noises.

Both their careers have gone drastically downhill, they probably jumped at the opportunity to start again and didn't give a shit about leaving it be.

I remember when I first heard they were remaking this, my first thought was that they would rehash a load of old material and it wouldn't work. Seems I was right.
