The concept of this album is amazing (I wont spoil it for the listeners), and Dr.Dre's production is what shines though which might come as bad news to some, but it gives me immense hope for Detox, which looks more and more likely near happening.
All i'll say is there was potential for this to be as good as one of the Big 3 albums, but it comes up a bit short... Like I said i'll let you all listen.

The voice negates some of the most creative flows and rhyme schemes I've ever heard. Ive always thought Mathers has the ability to produce a product on a diffirent level that other so called hip hop artists struggle to do, but why the comical voice and limited subject matter.
Also id like to see him work with diffirent production from time to time, maybe Dilla, prem or even Doom or RZA. I just think his lyrical talent could flourish with a new creative input.
Guess im just waiting for the Marshal Mathers 2 cd.

This is by far in his top two albums. His skill has matured if anything.
I should warn guys that haven't listened to it yet that this is basically his Slim Shady persona, not his Eminem/Marshall persona. I prefer it that way. There are only so many songs he can make about Kim/Hailie.

I don't know if you can even call it Slim Shady... it's almost like another persona all together, I like it alot, the whole "crazy drug influenced serial killing fiend" is well done, the voice fits as well, no longer is it the "puppet" voice, it's actually suitable.
I've spun this about 6 times now and every time it improves... you find something new every time and it make's it that much more enjoyable.
The only song I find myself skipping now is the single.
Eminem is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the greatest lyricists of all time. Not heard much of his new stuff yet, but the fact that he's reverted back to Slim Shady can only be a plus point, for me.
It is his Slim Shady persona. The content on the album is all about rape, murder, drugs etc...stuff Slim would talk about . Also why he called it Relapse.
I found his last album boring and you could tell he was bored. I really don't care about Kim or Hailie or how fecked up his life is. Mainly because he hardly showcases his lyricism on songs of that nature. His talent shines through when he's in Slim Shady mode imo.

Just finished giving this listen. As many have said, it's not his best, but he's most DEFINITELY back on form. His flow and lyrics are just so good that you have to admire him. However, I think Eminem knows that his lyrics and flow are pretty much second to none and I think that stupid voice he puts on is a bit of arrogance (in my personal opinion). When he wants to be serious, he's easily one of the best, but I think that stupid voice is kind of like saying 'I'm better than you and it sounds like I'm not even trying.' That's my take on it. 8.5/10 is a just score for this album. I liked Beautiful, Deja Vu, Medicine Ball and Stay Wide Awake most.

Definitely a serious one. We Made You's a bit gay, but for the most part it's a very deep album.
Deep with some humor... if you can't get over his voice now it might be a bit hard to listen to, but give it a few spins and the voice is totally acceptable.
