I reckon people prefer MW because its more arcadey than WaW. There are plenty of other modern FPS's.

I prefer MW to WaW because WW2 games annoy me.
As for the topic at hand, I enjoy the middleground between the two the most - realistic(ish) setting and actors, but arcadey gameplay - Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Ace Combat 6, Burnout series.
That said if I had to choose one side it would be non realistic. F Zero GX and Super Smash Bros Melee still remain two of my favourite games

Away from games though i find Pornograohy far surpasses anything in real life.
I don't just wear dresses.
Regarding the OP -- no, I don't care about realism. I only care about if the game feels good or not. Ricky the Magic Pixie with his Magic Mushroom Gun or 'real soldiers' with 'real weapons'? It's immaterial - it's all about the playability.
Mario Kart is a great example - unrealistic, but great racing.
