Diego Costa

Chelsea barely got a say in the matter did they?

Love Costa, proper nasty player. Top top player.

He's always a one man army upfront. Just bulldozes his way through when he's in peak form.

Everyone, especially the caf, forgets he disappeared for half the season every season he was at Chelsea and claims he’s a top striker.

An in-form Costa gives this Spain side a whole different dimemsion.

Had Costa stayed there was no way Liverpool were finishing top four this season. As a result the pressure on keeping Salah would have been immense and signing Fabinho and Fekir (or his level) near on impossible. What a horrible alternate reality that would be for us.

We had to let him leave because he is mental.
You could still sell him, but at the same time make use of him for 6 months which could have earned you few points more. Alienating him from the get go is terrible management. More mental compare to D.Costa behavior.

Whichever way you look at it, what Conte did to Costa was extremely stupid. Even if you intend to get rid of a player, you do it differently, specially when he is that good

A true Drogba replacement, so good at leading the line, I'm glad that he left Chelsea. The first goal was sublime

Costa had a whopping 7 goals in 23 appearances in La Liga no less. Scintillating stuff.

He's Also just been with 8 months without first team football, so understandable that he needs some time

Edit: Its 7 in 20. only 13 of them in La Liga (Source: Espn stats)
