Dead Set

Don't worry Simon...so did I, but I've caught up on 4OD.

Thought the first episode was brilliant, will watch the second tomorrow.

definitely too short tonight,

for those that have missed it

There's a feature length cut of it on Saturday night:

Dead Set
Saturday 01 November
10:00pm - 12:45am
E4

Feature-length version of the horror drama series written by Charlie Brooker. As a Big Brother eviction night looms, Britain is in the grip of an apocalyptic crisis. While the housemates remain oblivious, fast-moving hordes of the undead decimate the studio compound.

No. We fecking lost. Luckily Brum lost as well, but Wolves won.

Yup. You were right, we need him back. The team feels like it has stagnated recently. Were you at the QPR game?

I think the main problem is there is no competition for places upfront. We have great competition in the middle, but upfront Doyle and hunt are our only real options, with Long only suitable as an impact sub.

What the hell, why didn't they just show it like this in the first place but have it on Haloween night? That would have been alot better

Nah didn't go to QPR...sound slike I had a lucky escape from all reports.

Yeah we are short upfront. Long is so shite is laughable (he's League 1 standard if that) leaving us just Hunt and Doyle. Problem with Leroy is that if be bring him back I fear he wont replicate the form he's showing at the moment. Whatever has gone on with him and Coppell seems to have prevented him being able to play his 'natural' game for us since that spell he had in the PL when he scored 8 in 8. Just look at the difference being at a club with a manager (Roader) who has sung his praises and put an arm round him when needed has made. He's the type of player that just needs that arm round him from the manager once in a while....something Coppell seemingly wont give him, and becuase of that we have wasted, IMHO, our naturally most gifted striker. It's a shame it really is, I've always been a massive fan of Leroy, and he's now showing that he's easily one of the best stikers in the league, it's just a shame he's not showing it for us, and for that, I blame Coppell :(

Yeah. You had a lucky escape. Feel sorry for the poor bastards who were watching it on Sky. To be fair though, the poor game was mainly due to QPR using negative tactics.

Spot on. I think if he did come back he wouldn't show anywhere near the prowess he is displaying at Norwich. Which is a shame, because i think he still has a massive part to play at this club.

Fantastic program. One of the best I've watched in many a year. The way they strike the balance between the tough drama and the more light hearted moments are IMO spot on.

Some great lines in there as well.

It also gave me the oppurtunity to see Beth Cordingly's tits, something I have been wanting to do for years

Anyone else annoyed at the ending?

And why the feck did that pleb open the gates???

Overall the series was good, but not great, might be worth a re-watch tomorrow as it's going to be feature length...or maybe one for Sky+ :p

Fantastic show. Loved it all the way through and even though it was short, I felt that I kind of bonded with the characters if you get what I mean, especially Kelly and Space. Would have loved it to have been longer, or maybe a film or something.

Though the acteing was superb as well, special notes to Adam Deacon (Space) and Andy Nyman (Patrick)

By the way Anyone who is/has watching/watched this feature length version, they have cut quite a few bits out of it...which is quite surprisng realy

To be fair he would have died in the not too distant future anyway. They probably had relatively little food and it was very difficult for them to get out of the compound and the number of zombies was increasing exponentially.

Rationalism + Zombie films = :nono: ;)

I thought it was a good re-working of the classic zombie formula, especially the normal underlying commentary on the contemporary consumer/celebrity culture. The last shot at the end with the zombies wandering about under the CCTV cameras was a nice touch.

I thought it was excellent, I really enjoyed it, particularly the last hour. It didn't really have any mark of Charlie Brooker on it though - there was nothing outstandingly witty or cynical in the script, the social commentary was fairly basic, but it was still well done.

I liked the touch of them calling Kevin Eldon's character 'Gollum' and then him popping up with a Gollum-type contribution at the end too.

It was okay. The first half hour / hour was pretty shit though.

Don't know why but the lead character - Kelly? - was great and that other lad was a bit chilled out and cool...

The most gruesome part of it was Patrick (the producer) taking a dump. To be fair he was a funny bastard.

He was going sick at them when chopping a body to pieces.

Did you watch the feature length version? If so you missed a few realy good scenes, I have no idea why they cut parts out

I watched the first 3 episodes, missed the second 2 so saw the last hour or so of the feature-length version. That was by far the best part of it for me, though, so I hope I didn't miss too much. I'll probably get it on DVD
