Germany will win easily. Maybe not a drubbing in the score line but they will control the game from start to finish vs a very average Argentina.

In not saying Germany will smash them because Argentina can actually defend, but they should definitely still win.
I'd argue that Netherlands had been riding on luck even more so than Argentina. The way they came back against Spain and Mexico , and the penalty win against Costa Rica. It's been a good ride, but finally over today.
Easy to say but sneijder didn't look confident and I dont think a CB should be taking a penalty, unless they are a luiz type player. Think it's poor that Huntlar that replaced RVP didn't even step up to take one over a centre back.Even a nervous striker is better than a CB

Would be weird to see a new keeper coming on for penaltys the strikers must have though "he must be good at pens". it was mind games, nothing to do with dropping him because he is bad at pens.

On Van Gaal, I don't think much was wrong with his tactics. Argentina too defended very well and Sneijder had a poor game. Mascherano did good job on Robben. The lack of quality of Netherlands team was going to hurt them at some stage.

It won't be easy like that. Their defence are slow, easily exposed against Algeria in the first half, only went unpunished because of the lack of quality of Algeria attackers. If Di Maria is fit to play, he , Lavezzi and Messi can easily punish the immobile German defence.

Fair enough that Argentina went through. If one of the teams looked a bit sharper it was them, I felt. I hope Messi can step up in the final and give us a properly grand end to the WC. I'm not his biggest fan, perhaps, but I hope he plays a blinder and wins it for Argentina.
If he plays like he did tonight, though, I'd rather the Germans take it. He doesn't involve himself enough for my money - and that's counting in the obvious fact that he's usually well marked. When he does break free he almost always creates something - and he was up against nothing more than competent opposition tonight, he wasn't being hounded by a pack of top notch defenders by any means.
