Day 23: Netherlands vs. Argentina

Seriously, I don´t like this. Two very average teams relying on one or two star players going the full distance while the dominant other finalist finished their game after 30 minutes while being the best squad on paper and having one extra day to rest. Everything points towards us to win this tournament. It is nearly too obvious.

I really don't understand how Argentina can be this bad, and this negative, with the quality they have in their ranks.

If Holland lose this LvG will be second guessed for the RvP sub. If they win, he will be like Jesus.

A team never won 2 penaty shootouts in one tournament, right? :(

Well the manager has done well. No shame in losing a penalty shootout and getting to the final would be immense in itself.

Our players should be standing to attention after this.

Can't see Netherlands winning two penalty shoot outs in a row. Thought they were slightly better over the 90 though, showed more intent to go forward.

Germany are licking their lips. Both team are tired and a little stretched. I'd put my money on Germany winning comfortably, whoever they play.

Argies to win on penalties

Mascherano MOTM he was fantastic at the back for them tonight, especially after being nearly knocked out only a few minutes into the game when he probably should have gone off.

Absolutely. But to unquestionably go down in history amongst that company, he just has to match their biggest achievement.
Well, then I guess he can't even go down in history among the likes of Eusebio or Zidane.

Football changes, things have to be put into context. Maradona did things Messi never did or will have the chance to do, and the other way around.

Puts the whole tournament in a bad light that such flawed sides have come so far, without even mentioning how awful Brazil were...

Two terrible sides, hope Germany smash the winners in the final. Pathetic pperformance from all involved

Absolutely. But to unquestionably go down in history amongst that company, he just has to match their biggest achievement.

No he doesn't, that was the point. If Messi delivers incredibly at club football level, why can't he be as good as other greats because of 20-30 average games in his career, some of which he's actually done well in?

I haven't suggested anything, but he's playing turd and doesn't look like he's fully fit, so it's not an outlandish suggestion.

Are you capable of adult conversation?
If you're not suggesting anything then what are you arguing, that it's not a "outlandish suggestion"? Lol, yes it is a very "outlandish suggestion".

Are you capable of not sounding like a donkey?
