Most likely. But their strength also is highlighted when teams attack them leaving gaps. Neither of these two teams will do a Portugal/Brazil and leave too many gaps at the back based on this. But Germany on paper are a superior team

Dude what's up with everyone complaining about this game being so cagey? The stakes are so high. After Brazil's rout yesterday, it must have really got to both coaches head so they are setting their teams up so cautiously. You're talking about a place in a World Cup Final!
He lost the ball far too much, he looked weak in possession, he is usually very good on the ball hardly gives it away, but i guess he needs a break a holiday will do him a good.
Watching him I was struck by the lack of effort so was just checking..It's a proxy for effort I guess.
He's a workhorse striker who is being asked to play left-wing. Of course he's one dimensional in attack given the lack of space, movement and pace. He's also getting on a bit.
I agree that his crossing has been terrible, but his defensive work has been excellent.

Watching Messi thesedays is strange, he doesn't seem to have the pace/acceleration to be beat a load of players like he used to. A few years ago he's absolutely breeze by 3/4/5 players like it was the easiest thing in the world, he just doesn't do that anymore. Still capable of magic, mind.
I understand that of course, the ideal is a back and forth game with a few goals. Last night was entertaining due to the number of goals and the sheer craziness of the situation. This just feels like a chore to watch. Though it has gotten slightly better.
Messi certainly has been poor. He is a legend on the club level but there is a good reason why Argie fans don't worship him like they did with Maradona. For a player with legendary status, this performance has been nothing short of an embarrasment. He isn't even trying or working hard.
