Covid Outbreak at Man Utd

Wouldn't be surprised. What's most shocking to me is how they pack these arenas full with this variant spreading around like hayfire. Not a responsible thing to do.
Not just that. Hardly a mask in sight. Most of these people will have been milling round the concourses. Do they have masks on then in enclosed spaces?

I really don’t get that. I know it’s people trying to behave like normal as much as possible but we don’t live in normal times
True. It's worrying. All around the world these different sports arenas are being crowded full meanwhile we have the most agressive spreading covid variant in the air. This is only contributing to the spread. Imo they should go on till the end of the season with empty arenas. Perhaps at least till mid/late April?

I've reacted to that as well. Pretty much every game I watch I barely see anyone with masks at all. I personally wouldn't set foot inside such a crowded place in these times.

At this rate, PL may well get suspended again.

No, think they'd just go to no crowds/massively limited crowds first.
This is what the vaccinations have been for. We're still in a much better place overall than the first lockdown.

Norwich had some cases before the game and now we have cases after the game , didn’t Norwich also play Spurs last week ? :wenger:

Stuff like this really annoys me.
So I travel to London next week from Germany and have to do a pre departure test and a day 2 PCR test upon arrival (without vaccination it would be a day 2 and day 8 test). However within UK there are hardly any rules, full stadiums, people have mostly stopped wearing a mask almost everywhere, etc. What’s the point in people entering UK having all those test restrictions when in UK people can do whatever they want.
Here in Germany we can’t legally enter a restaurant if we are not vaccinated or recovered and we can’t travel with public transport if we are not vaccinated, recovered or tested negative (rapid antigen tests are free currently) for example.

I mean we still have extremely high number of cases but at least there are rules in place for the entire country and not just for people entering the country.

My first thought on seeing him put his hand to his chest was covid - omicron to be precise. One of the initial symptoms being reported is a feeling of "chest pressure".

Whatever it was I hope he's ok. And if we do have a covid outbreak, I hope the rest of them are feeling ok as well.

Some of you are obessed with coronavirus.

No one gets that kind of chest pressure out of a sudden from Corona virus, he was fully fit just 45 minutes before that to start a game. He either got a kick in his chest, or it's something more serious regarding heart(maybe something post corona virus related), but I thought it thankfully looked just like a kick and not too serious.

This is why I didn’t get the logic of having two keepers on the bench. Surely you’d want at least one separated in case the other gets sick. Well one of the reasons I didn’t get the logic:)

I agree. My family have all been double jabbed, had boosters if now eligible, also 14 year old had his jab. I always wear mask in supermarkets, gel my hands, yet watch others just swan in a out with no masks. I actually go very early to do my shopping to avoid being there when it is crowded.

It's a very lazy link but maybe this is 1) why Lindelof was struggling during the game and 2) why we looked off the pace too. I just hope the players safety is put at utmost priority.

It's truly bizzare, I put a mask everytime I go out shopping or inside a big crowd and no one near me wears it. And then people start crying if we have more lockdowns.

Over here we have a Government that doesn't take advice from experts and has had a herd immunity policy from the start - hence the lack of sensible rules.

"Small group" sounds kinda optimistic.

West Brom had a small group of positives but still played Saturday.

they are young and extremely strong. if they were not vaccinated they will have natural inmunity, no problem there. my concern is about the ridiculous december fixture

If Norwich had to play yesterday I don't see why our game on Tuesday would get cancelled

What else would they write? And what else would they know? It´s probably Matic and Mata, where Rangnick said that Matic tested negative already. It means they can be many and no one knows yet.

The mistake you’re making is thinking these procedures are in place to protect the country. It’s an opportunity to make money and so our government will take it.
Now all these ‘government approved’ companies can make their £100 a pop from PCR tests, tests that you can get for free btw in many many places.

Already been dismissed I believe

PCR tests can be wrong. LF tests are often wrong. Especially with asymptomatic infection. Anyway it was just a thought.

On the same subject it seems weird that we are allowing crowds into stadiums but stopping Christmas parties.

Who's stopping Christmas parties?

I know, and it seems that we’re going back into Level 4 and I read earlier that was the level we were in between Feb and May. At that time games were played behind closed doors and it wasn’t until we moved down a level in late May that 10000 were allowed in, yet it seems that now it’s acceptable for 75000 to be crammed in.

Well you would think they would write "big group" if it was enough positives to threaten the fixture.

It amazes when I hear from my brother in London. He says it's a regular occurrence to see many shoppers in supermarkets without masks and that many riders on the tube don't wear masks. Here in Toronto, I might see the occasional rider on the subway without a mask (often someone who is clearly suffering from some kind of mental condition) and I almost never see anyone at the supermarket without a mask (you do so the occasional idiot wearing the mask below the nose, but still.) It just blows how the UK government has seemingly just thrown all caution to the wind since the summer. I'm due to visit London just after Christmas, and I'm not going to lie: I will be quite concerned about going out into public spaces).

It’s not just the government the people here have such a me, me, me attitude to everything. People hate being told what to do and treat all authority and expertise with contempt and denial. They’d rather buy into daft conspiracy theories than listen to actual science and accept the fact they don’t know everything about any given subject. Awful place right now.

Yeah, I mean we have our own clowns here, but it just amazed me to see that spectacle at Wembley in the summer. Could never imagine that happening here.

Britain is a lost cause now. Despicable place.
