Covid Outbreak at Man Utd

Can we play Brentford on Saturday instead? Southampton is their next fixture, so I'm guessing not.

The PL might have to get creative with scheduling because all of these postponements will lead to a massive backlog.

Pretty rubbish job protecting against it though isn't it? First vaccine as well that's ever required other people to take it for it to be effective yet it shows it's not really that effective, there will be several more strains in the next few years just wait.
Sorry, but do you believe that the dramatic fall in deaths over the last year is just a coincidence then? Or do you willfully ignore that because it doesn't fit in with your antivax narrative?

Sorry if I sounds like clutching to you. But I'm here just want to know the reason not to go war with you.

The first team can still go training before or after the youth team playing. And you don't need a proper training facility just to train for one or two days, thus, there is no reason why can't we move our training somewhere else like Old Trafford. We trained only for 45 mins before Palace game!!

I think it will be come clear soon. The club speaking to the FA do don't think anything will be announced before that.

I just don't see the point it risking it given the bigger picture outside of football. Health must come first.

Apparently coaching staff have it so that would also play havoc with things given there's limited to no people to take training?

Just seems logical to move on from it and get our own house in order.

How does this bubble system work exactly? I mean, if it was effective, there would most likely not be an outbreak. Or did they only go into the bubble after some positive tests were found? Do they enter a bubble after testing to prevent being infected after the test was administered? If so, that makes sense, otherwise it's just a craps shoot if you will. I question the entire setup. Not just at United but everywhere. Seemingly the youth players that are training with the first team present the highest risk of cross infection. You would imagine the youth players are more likely to be "out" with friends in more risky situations and can bring it back to others.

re the vaccine, it won't help players not get infected. That's not the point. The point is to not die or wind up in hospital. I don't see much change until a player dies or becomes very sick requiring hospital stay.

I’m not even sure they are using bubbles any more are they?

We've got a 9 day gap between Brighton and Newcastle, would make most sense to just postpone this to next Tuesday/Wednesday.

Brentford are playing in the league cup next Wednesday.

Whether you want to call it ''health must come first'' or no but end of the day the rule specifies certain numbers of players being tested positive. Small amount of players won't be accepted by PL and will only see it as an excuses, thus, the match could still go on. And I did say ''Unless if lot of players from the Norwich games just tested positive''. That's the only way I can see it being postponed.

We only trained for 45 mins before Palace game, I don't think you need the whole coaching staff to do 45 mins training. I don't see why can't Ralf alone or few additional coaching staffs to do small or simple training to keep the legs going on for tomorrow's game. Training is better than no training.

We are due to be playing Brighton this Saturday afternoon though.

I reckon the Brentford game will be rescheduled till after the new year if it does most likely get postponed tomorrow

if they postponed the Brentford due to covid then surely we won't be able to play for another 2 weeks unless if before Friday that players who tested positive actually tested negative after re-attempt.

We're just at the start of the new variant taking over so things are only going to get worse. I feel like more bubble like measures will be needed for players and staff or this will happen every week.

Is it not as simple as players who have tested positive can't play, players who test negative can? Unless so many are positive that we literally can't field a full team.

From a selfish perspective I want the outcome that favours us most, but in practical terms the league becomes a bit of a mess with all the postponed games.

Shame, but it is what it is. I’d be interested to know what measures they’re taking, if any, like bubbles and stuff to segregate staff from one another to mitigate risk. But whatever they do, this stuff will keep happening.

They're not bubbled in a wrapped up and locked away in a sterile environment sense though. They still go home to their family, their kids still go to school, they get their hair cut. If omicron is as fast and and as easy to spread as it seems it can race around a group or a home - even one that was doing enough to avoid the older strains of covid.

I'm betting on a postponed game by the sounds of it, Spurs games been postponed so I can't see how ours v Brentford can go ahead, with Training facilities in quarantine. So for me it's off.

Could maybe argue that if the team was playing once a week/could rest up. With the xmas schedule however, you would run the squad into the ground in a matter of days.

This situation is as much a result of TV rights greed as it is the virus.

As said you were suggesting the game should go ahead based on the fact that FA youth cup is.

That made no sense and still doesn't.

Can’t see them playing the Brentford game at all. I really, realllly hope the Brighton game goes ahead as scheduled.

Just catching up on this now. I thought everyone who was in the squad for our last game has come through negative?
Has that changed and the position worsened?

Has the Spurs game against Leicester on Thursday night been postponed too?

40k every Saturday in Vienna swinging their Austria flags like some fecking idiots. You got them everywhere.

Yeah I know but this is people on the caf so I'm forced to interact with it. I never speak to any of those faceless morons I see attending protests on the telly so it doesn't seem as real I suppose.

How can people still not have a clue about covid or vaccines at this stage of the feckin game?
I'm astonished that there are still people who haven't the foggiest about it. My partner had her nails done the other day and the nail technician thought that they inject you with covid to vaccinate you "but a less strong version"...

Just try not to think too much that these people are allowed to drive, vote, operate dangerous machinery etc. That will really ruin your day :nervous:

I mean it's not that far off from the truth, especially for a layman. Hardly something to laugh about.

The levels of idiocy here are beyond belief. Scientists with decade of education and research know feck all apparently. Every single part of that post is clueless. Good to see the caf flagging it as disinformation.

It look as though everyone tested negative before the Norwich game but the positive tests came the following morning. Which could have been anyone. I’d be willing to bet good money that Lindelof is one of them. Probably Matic too, who missed the Norwich game with “a cold” and couldn’t have played worse against Young Boys if he was riddled with tuberculosis.

may explain the lethargy within the team generally
