Club Sale | It’s done!

Surely that calamitous result yesterday put the final nail in the coffin for any chance of Joel and Avram clinging on. Sheikh Jassim will be our new owner by April.

After last night's game do we really care? This thread has evolved from being repetitive, tedious to being a godsend now! Where are the moral discussions/distractions when you need it?

It's just nice to have a distraction to be honest. I'd rather chat about this than tear apart the players, manager, gameplans, whatever some people would be willing to do after yesterday.

Plus, I'm not able to post in the non-football forums yet so the alternative distractions are limited. I'd like to go and discuss The Last of Us but hey ho, here I am :D

Precisely. I would welcome the human rights discussion again. Or even pretend how many degrees of separation jassim or daddy is from the state funds, even the history of Christianity.

Isn’t that what they’re valuing the club at as a whole rather than 6b for themselves?
No it’s to buy out their shares. The non voting shares have minimal value as they are, once the sale is completed it’s a slow process to buy all the shares off the market and take it private.

I believe once you get to 90% ownership you are able to force the purchase of the remaining 10%.

Jassim indicated from the start its A full Takeover including shares so most likely that process will take until beyond the summer however the initial 69% would be purchased for the $6bln, that’s my understanding.

Yeah, if they're asking for 6bn for themselves, they're valuing the club at 8.6bn, which is laughable. Hell, 6bn is laughable considering the state of the club's finances. Most finance/economist people value it at 3-3.5bn.

Thats a lot of blow & hoes to go around!

Given the Glazers’ running of Utd and transfer / contract dealings, I’d imagine they pay over the odds for crap, out of date coke that’s been cut with baby laxatives and talcum powder - maybe 100 grand a gram.

Then off to the brothel where they pay £50,000 for an hour with a ropey, overweight, middle aged uggo who lured them in with a picture of a beautiful, slim 25 year old.

And when it’s all done they give a pay rise to the brothel owner.

Don't know the guy at all but RMC are usually good.

If this takeover doesn't go through the club will be in big big trouble, could really do with it being done asap so we know our future is better secured

Agree, and I don't think some people properly realise the necessity for it.

Money has dried up so badly that the Glazer's couldn't even justify taking a dividends. If they stay or accept minority investment (which will be money into their pockets, not the club) the stadium and facilities will continue to fall behind, the club won't be adequately replacing the likes of De Gea, Varane, Shaw, Casemiro, Fernandes over the next 3-4 years and the Qatari's in particular (probably INEOS too) will be thinking about moving on to help another PL club.

Also the above is why I still think a full takeover is the most likely, I think the Glazer's will be realistic enough to understand there might not be £5bn bids coming again in a few years time when even more work needs doing on and off the pitch

The end of the glazer ownership will be a huge weight lifted off the club, they have been a burden. New ownership (likely Qatar) will be like a breath of fresh air, zero debt, no dividends, no more glazernomics, just forward thinking footballing decisions, as opposed to commercial ones.

Glazer's want £6bn, I just want a pie, a pint and club that is not in debt

Who is this cnut? How would he know the details over the likes of Kaveh and Keegan
He works for RMC sports which is quite respected. Not sure about this guy specifically.

Given the links between Qatar and France, it would make sense for the French journalists to be well informed on at least some of this.

But I also agree people need to do a bit more due diligence on their sources and explain if they're good or not.

Kept making this point when rival fans and media cried about Qatar owners, where were they when City scored 6 and did the Poznan on us? Did they lament the state we were in under the Glazers?
Today is.m a better example. Where are the reports talking about how the Galzers have set us so far back that we now have PTSD as a club and fanbase?
I’m not exactly tripping over them.
Liverpool broke me, feck them all. Let the oil revenge tour begin
I’m with you, the media reaction to yesterday has been unreal, obviously I knew it would be and there’s some justification in that but I’ve seen headlines like “United knocked off their perch” and the piss taking on talksport this morning has been unreal.

In one way it feels good to know we’re hated again and the shitstorm a Qatari takeover would create would be phenomenal and all though I’ve never supported it, it now makes me almost want it just to feck the media off.

First time I see a journalist defend united fans. Scousers saying "here comes the green and gold" are only afraid of what we will become if we get rid of the Glazers whether its SJR or Sheik Jassim.

The problem with being the most hated is that you cannot allow for any missteps because people will be on you right away.

And the worst thing is that our rivals will never have it as bad even if they fail as much.

This is why we need the big bucks. Better to be feared and respected than mocked and humiliated. feck them all, especially Neville with his ratty takes.

Yes! Give the keys to a guy whose net worth is 1.2bn and apparently has links to terrorists(idk if its true)!

If your going to link a potential owner to terrorism you should probably back it up with more than 'idk if its true'

Yeah RMC are usually pretty straight forward but never heard of this guy. I seriously doubt 5bn would be their final offer, since it was also their initial offer.

It’s not the money they’ve put it up. It’s how they’ve used it.

Their biggest crime in regards to the football is letting Ed Woodward work in such a capacity for as long as he did. He’d have fecking gone with Jose under a competent owner.

Woodward’s shit legacy remains to this day with Phil Jones having a contract with us still and some of our players on WAY too much money than what they’re worth. I genuinely believe this man could have been another Ridsdale if it wasn’t for the fact United are a money making machine.
