His last few replies have been funny. It's amusing to watch people so intransigently double down, or deflect, rather than simply say they were uninformed. It's always a "but I mean x. Context mate. What I meant was..." before attempting to misrepresent what they originally said, which was just wrong.
The person you're being so buddy buddy with right now first said that an article documenting abuse was just about rainbow flags. Then said that the same article just had to do with public behaviour, when it in reality it shows LGBT+ people being surveilled and tracked. Then said that Qatar doesn't discriminate against LGBT+ people, that these are isolated incidents that could just as well happen to straight people.
All these things you mention? Doubling down, deflecting. That on steroids. Did you miss that performance?

No, because are not adding anything of value to the main topic at hand - takeover process for United and the relevant updates.Firstly it is not derailing the thread. Ridiculous claim. It is very relevant to discuss comparative actions of our potential owners.
To answer your 3 pretty silly and leading questions.
No.
Possibly.
Possibly.
Feel better?
I wonder if we should have a thread about the mystery 3rd bidder (reportedly US-based).

The whole reason club is being sold is because it’s been run poorly, club has fallen behind commercially, fallen behind on the pitch and losing millions a month. Arnold has been part of that for years, so have numerous others so a lot of them will be very fortunate to stay.
When the Glazers took us over they took over a successful business with employees who had a track record of success to point to, same can’t be said for many of the current ones
I doubt they’ll be wholesale changes straight away because of the likely timing of the takeover but within first year I’d expect a big turnover. We haven’t been run like a football club under the Glazers, no emphasis on growth or ambition just servicing the Glazers interests. If someone comes in and changes all that there is very little incentive to keep a lot of the senior staff.
I think they're banned. I couldn't click on the profile when I went to ignore them anyway.
I've decided to put Qatar shills on ignore, it's just too frustrating trying to have a discussion.
Probably just a privacy setting. For temp bans profiles stay accessible, and for perm bans the tagline also changes to 'New Member' unless they have a custom one. If you want to ignore them you can add /ignore after the url when you try to access the profile, that should work.
That's the concern. For them to buy United, they will also need to take on a lot of debt which could well be put on us like the Glazers did. Unless it's someone super billionaire like Balmer or Bezos, much prefer to not go down the American owner route again.Liberty Media must be one of most likely candidates, they’ve been linked with Liverpool like the Qatari’s were as well. The size of the investment must have deterred a lot of the Americans that were expected to bid.
Another alternative is it’s from someone like Pagliuca but is loaded with debt, any potential American owner probably knows they won’t be popular, especially with debt.
I think we can all comfortably say who has been behind the demose of the club...Glazers x Ed Woodward. They have got the club in the position they are at the moment. It was always going to be a slog to right the wrongs Ed had done.
You can't really hold Arnold accountable for the time Ed was in charge. Otherwise, where do you stop? Get rid of Cath from the front desk, too?
Nice are still currently the second most form team in France over the past 10 games, the nothing Swiss team looks likely to gain promotion. Amazon just took a massive loan, no none state entity just ”tanks” all debt to please numpties on tinternet.
Regardless, none of that has f-all to do with my post, which stated that being owned by a giant corporation like INEOS that can easily maintain billions in loans without United’s help, is nothing like the Glazers, who couldn’t and therefore had no choice but to make the club pay for everything.
There’s a difference between being on the front desk and working been in senior positions for 15 years. The guy worked closely with Woodward for well over a decade so he even contributed to the down or spent all that time doing nothing.
Arnold didn’t just turn up at the club 6 months ago, like I said he’s been here 15 years, like Woodward he wouldn’t have survived so long if he wasn’t on same page as the Glazers.
Oh the form.thing again. Does that provide you with a medal? Nice are currently 7th place and a staggering 21 points away from Qatari owned psg. Lausanne had been relegated twice since ineos took over. That's the benefits such juggernaut had brought to these clubs
I’m very surprised Saudi media hasn’t been linked with us yet. They were definitely in for Chelsea and they’re very wealthy.I wonder if we should have a thread about the mystery 3rd bidder (reportedly US-based).
Once again, nothing to do with my point of comparing Glazer v INEOS ownership.
I’m not interested in the same debate again about the Swiss club and Nice, if you think it’d be smart ownership to buy little Nice and attempt to challenge Mbappe, Messi, Neymar & co. within 4 years, more fool you.
You mentioned that ineos can turn united into some kind of juggernaut.
But they're keeping the debt so what difference does it make if they're richer than the Glazers or not?
Completely agree.I remember Carrick and McKenna getting massive stick under Ole and saying they're rubbish. How they should all go.
They go and be managers and be responsible for theirs, and the teams decisions. They're not doing too bad right now, are they?
Just because you've worked under someone, even in a senior position, means you have any type of power. Plus, right at this moment in time, they're doing well and doing things correctly. Give him time.
Completely agree.
Michael Edwards at Liverpool worked under several failed regimes since 2011, until Klopp arrived. And Liverpool fans wanted him out and some even started a petition to get him removed.
If the decision making at the top of the pyramid is flawed, then nothing will function optimally.
Pretty sure I spoke only that being owned by a company with 10 times the revenue of United aint even remotely the same as being owned by a family that had to leverage the club itself to even buy it and that the club itself was their biggest company.
Just seen.. he could have just said “I was wrong and speaking from ignorance or was mislead” but instead just rambled on about forbidden etcHis last few replies have been funny. What is the difference then? Cause Nice and Lausanne were owned by INEOS whose way richer then 99% of all clubs in their league and it made little to no difference whatsoever
Mitchell hasn't done anything to write home about imo and was very fortunate that he was brought in by the DoF Les Reed at Soton in a scouting capacity, where Pochettino being the head coach meant the signings were always going to centre around high intensity football.Ah, okay. Yeah, I didn't even think about Edwards at Lfc. But this emphasises my point further. I'd like everyone to be given a chance and take it from there.
But probably the only position I'll contradict myself on this, is the position of DoF. And this because both Edwards and Mitchell will be available...and that won't be for too long.
How many times do I have to tell you my point was comparing their ownership model with the Glazers?
I have zero interest in debating whether or not it would’ve made any sense to buy little old Nice and attempt to challenge PSG in less than 4 years.
For what it’s worth, if Newcastle challenge for the league in the next 3 seasons I’ll be amazed, and that despite being owned by a bottomless pit of money.
This is Ratcliffe's opportunity to show some ambition in regards to stadium and training facilities. Please come with some bright and fresh ideas because rest assured Jassim has already outlined his already
But how much will the Glazers care about what they plan to do with the club moving forward?

My point is that there's a hell of a gap between little old Nice with little old INEOS whose seems lacking ambition/money/brains to compete with Qatar and the rest. INEOs had failed to do better then a number of French clubs and a bigger number of Swiss clubs who were owned by way poorer owners then INEOS are.
I’m not arsed mate, either debate the point I made, INEOS ownership and debt isn’t remotely the same as Glazer ownership and debt or stop replying.
If you wanna debate the pros and cons of taking over little old Nice and trying to make them better than Marseille, Monaco and PSG (not to mention Lyon) within just 4 years, find someone who gives a feck about the argument, I think, like with FSG and Liverpool, we’re another 4 years away from seeing how the Nice project is fairing.
