Can Ronaldo/Cavani be our Ronaldo/Benzema?

Benzema is a better footballer than Cavani. By that I mean touch, control and passing. Cavani is more of a predator. I doubt Cavani and Ronaldo will play together too often unless Utd are chasing a lead.

This just isn’t true. Have you watched Juve or Portugal? He’ll play up top for us and we just need to have runners around him. He’s actually very good now at coming deep and linking play as well as in build up around the box but he will be the central striker.

He will, IIRC Ole said he will play CF so in that context he will be in the box. No CF stays in box all the time, they will move around to be involved in the build up play, especially the skillful ones.

We’ll see I guess but good look to Ole trying to keep the squad in harmony as Ronaldo won’t be happy sitting out too many games.
 
Why move Ronaldo wider?

He won’t fly down the wings any more but put him in front of goal and he can score goals as well as he ever could. It’s what he’ll be paid for
 
Ronaldo is a poacher now. It would be a mistake to use him on the wing and I don't think we will, so in short, no.

Benzema was never rated as a world class #9 at Real Madrid until Cristiano left. Only two 20+ LaLiga goals campaigns in 8 seasons.

Benzema was in the shadow of several players, not just Cristiano.
 
7 years ago it would have been amazing. Find the next big thing. I love Ronaldo and Cavani but I don’t think they are the answer to us having a dominant team. We have Cavani and Ronny while Real go for Haaland and Mbappe. See the difference?
 
That would be nice - but no, don't think it's realistic (for all sorts of reasons).
 
Finally going to be able to play with United in Fifa and have a cracking team. Martial left, Ronaldo CF, Rasfhord right. Jadon at the 10 and Bruno and Pogba behind them. Can’t wait haha.

In real life, at least until Marcus is back, I think it will be Sancho left, Ronaldo CF and Mason right. Can’t drop Greenwood considering the form he is in rn. I can’t see Ole starting both Ronaldo and Cavani, and I don’t think it will work.4 years ago, yes, but not anymore I don’t think.

Honestly there's not many strikers that still just sit in the middle of the pitch the entire match, so I think this thing is overblown. Especially considering we have wide forwards that like to drift inwards anyways. Kane, Lukaku, Benzema etc. all will drift wide/deep constantly.
