Look at the amount of time Deschamps has been mentioned, he is clearly the goat.
In all seriousness, he's clearly somewhere in consideration for the greatest water-carrier of all-time. And definitely underrated as a captain — captained Marseille (the youngest captain to lift the CL), captained France (just yesterday I heard Frank Leboeuf talking about him — that no one on the pitch of the 2000 Euros final had believed that it's possible to score an equaliser and only Deschamps ran around and kept pushing them forward; and this was a side with the likes of Zidane and Blanc in it).
