Bebe hopes for Manchester United return after impressing on loan

Quinton Fortune told Andy Mitten in a UWS podcast a while back that Bebe is the most skillful player at Old Trafford in training.

He says the problem Bebe has is he doesn't have the know how on how to actually play a game.

Thought it was interesting anyway.

Jesus Christ you know you're poor when Quinton Fortune says that you don't know how to play football, considering the midfield general he wasn't.

Did his turn in form come simply from a run of games? I know he scored a good goal or two in our reserves, but he seems to be a bit more refined now.
Maybe it's him being the star player which has helped him. Anyway, it's good to see him doing well.

So is he still under contract? Can we get back 5-6 million from him?

He is still under contract and rumor has it that Braga and Sporting Lisbon are interested in taking him off us. He's done very well for himself on loan but I'd still be surprised to see us get back what we paid for him, around 4-5 million would be a decent fee for him.

He was one of our most dependable squad players when not on the injury table

You only have to look at the photos of him the day of the signing to see a young man who knew he wasn't ready.

Good for him that he's performed over there when the pressure is off but that doesn't mean he can step up and do the same for us.

I do feel a bit sorry for him, he said Ferguson didn't even know who he was after he cut his hair and he found it difficult to understand his coaching, it's not his fault we paid 9 million for him.

Sorry if posted already:

Bebé has been awarded Paços' Top Scorer and Player of the Year!

Delighted for the lad, I can't see him making it at United, but hopefully he can sign for one better clubs in Portugal.

He won't make it at United - not good enough and we don't need a player like that anyway really. But it's nice that the lovely story of a homeless kid making it in football is back on track.

Said he wants to stay in Portugal, mentioning Braga & Sporting who are both apparently interested.

Wow it really does seem like he's done well. Looks like he'll go back out on loan next year, was he not at Braga on loan previously and they sent him back to us or am I thinking of someone else?

I really hope he goes on our summer tour and proves himself to be a talent.

Besiktas, I think. He came back with a bad injury.

He's got a year of his contract left so this summer will be our final chance to get a fee before the end of that deal, unless he goes on another season-long loan then on a free next summer.

I hope he manages to get himself a decent move sorted. It sounds like he might.

Shite crossing aside... it wasn't that bad, considering it was his first appearance and he came from nowhere.

His crossing looks on par with what we see today.

Like the music.

Good on him, he hasn't been a huge success anywhere but most of us would obviously love to experience his playing career.

Did think at first with this bump that we must be getting very desperate if Bebe thinks he might return

Just looking at his career record on paper and he's had a much better career than I expected him too. When he left here I would've guessed that had we not bought him his move to the Primera Liga would've been too much for him but when he did go get there it seems he proved himself before long and has subsequently settled down as a lower level La Liga/top of the Segunda player. That's miles better than how he looked in his rather dodgy, in numerous ways including ones very much not his fault, time here.

We should have brought him back. He was far more entertaining & had a better attitude than some players who went out/missed out on loan recently :p

I've never seen a player look like he was absolutely bricking himself more than when Bebe lined up against Wolves. He was absolutely shocking and much of his reputation to large swathes was made on that one game. As you say, in reality he's a much better player than the performance suggested.
