So after three seasons of watching a not so funny "on the buses" with Ole at the wheel, we are now boarding the train with Ralf at the "controls" (I'm sure I've heard him mention something about control before
).
I'm sure he can get us back on the right track. Obviously there are going to be delays for a variety of reasons. Dealing with "leaves" ...(those that don't want to be here) and snowflakes ...(those that don't like having to train properly for the first time in years or in the dark
) on the line.
Sorting out any unruly passengers either by firm but polite request or get that vin diesel bloke he's got next to him, to chuck the feckers off the train
.
Talking of "passengers" he might be carrying a few that haven't got a valid ticket even if they claim that they have special passes from someone high up( fringe players on fat contracts). Identifying and removing those that dont have a reason to be on-board will also help overcrowding issues (de-bloating the squad in the right areas).
So dealing with all this in his first few weeks in a new job while still trying to get us as close as possible to where we need to be (get top 4 while still trying to put into practise, his blueprint- the first 30 minutes against Palace and 2nd half against Brentford?) is going to require patience and nerves from everyone. It's gonna be a bumpy ride over the next few months
Even if he can't and most likely won't get us back "home" (The Fergie years) in his six months as a "driver", there's hope that once he moves upstairs into the control centre and... (am i being deluded here!?) manoeuvre some kind of power away from the twat controllers, who are currently ruining the network.
Maybe then he can help with the implementation of a proper structure that will reap long term benefits for all involved, starting with helping to identify the next driver to continue our journey.(fingers crossed, Arnold, Murtough and Fletcher will back him up).
In Ralf I trust, CHoo choo!!
