I'm a fan of the Nightmare of Elm St films so I'm excited about seeing this, of course it won't be as awesome as the original but as long as it's good to watch then happy days.

I have heard rumours that freddy could be wrongly accused of child molestation/killing and only comes back to get his revenge on the kids that parents murdered him.

It looked ok, some good scenes look to have been revisited and the pool scene looked reminiscent of freddy 2. His voice sounded strange though and could put me off.
In all fairness I only enjoyed parts 1, 3 and the new nightmare anyway.

I've no idea who is playing Krueger in this remake. I still think Robert Knepper would have made a fantastic Freddy.

How's that so different from the original story where he was an acquitted child molester/murderer who got off on a technicality, killed by the town's parents, who returns to kill every kid in town by way of revenge?

If this is the plot for the remake it almost makes him vigilante-ish out to get those who wrongly blamed him for misdeeds. Which would be just wrong and would take away from what the character really is.

I thought he looked a bit like a scarecrow, infact come to think of it, i think the scarecrow face / hood thing in Batman Begins is probably freakier than that!
It would be pretty stupid if they made Freddy innocent and wrongly accused.
