Difficult team for us, if we turn up with the same attitude we’ll win but they are a nightmare lower table team that always pick up points against big teams.

Hadn't even thought of it, but in all seriousness, isn't it strange to schedule a team who played the only Monday night match in the early Saturday game?
They still have 5 days to recover, better than playing a Thursday game and then again Sunday.

    De Gea
    Dalot
    Varane
    Martinez
    Malacia
    Casemiro
    Eriksen
    Bruno
    Sancho
    Rashford
    Martial

After fecking good football we'll be brought back down to earth

    fecking XI

    fecking Gea

    fecking Malacia
    fecking Martínez
    fecking Varane
    fecking Dalot

    fecking Casemiro
    fecking Eriksen
    fecking Bruno

    fecking Rashford
    fecking Martial
    fecking Sancho

Can't fecking wait for this. ...and long time since I've felt this excited to watch us again.

You shouldn’t underestimate how much the game against Liverpool will have taken out of them.

A squad that is used to strolling around the pitch every week, will need a lot of recovery time after last night.

I’m not sure they are capable of 2 good performances in a week either.

But let’s see if they have turned a corner.

Just keep the momentum going. Away from home is a different proposition.

This is our opportunity to lay down a marker and make some of the smaller teams worried about playing us again. It's more important than the Liverpool match in that sense, those games should always be a battle. We need to come out fast and aggressive. Show our authority at the start and some class when we're ahead.

Team picks itself pretty much. Casemiro and Martial in for McT and Elanga. Match our intensity from yesterday and we win this game

As always the most important game is the next one and this one is no different.

We need to push on form last night , we have seen over the last few seasons where we put in the odd good performance in a big match and everyone thinks we have turned a corner , only for the goodwill to be squandered in the next match.

We need the performance last night to become the norm not the exception , any team can pull a big performance out now and again. The good ones do it consistently.

Will Casemiro go straight into the starting team?

Need selections updated, players who are gone still there and the recent arrival is missing.

Tough game for any side - win or draw just want to see a good attacking performance. Hopefully flashbacks of 9-0 will haunt Southampton

Are we getting any new GK before this game? De Gea goes from one extreme to the other game to game. Against Brentford every situation it was playing short to the CBs, yesterday he was hoofing it at every opportunity. Dude probably doesn't want to use his brain much to play differently for different situations in a game.

    De Gea
    Dalot - Varane - Martinez - Malacia
    Casemiro - McTominay
    Sancho - Bruno - Rashford
    Martial
Similar team to last night please but with Casemiro and Martial coming in for Eriksen and Elanga. It would be amazing if we could get Antony or Gakpo in for this but that's unlikely.

    Malacia
    Martinez
    Varane
    Dalot

    Casemiro
    Fred
    Eriksen

    Rashford
    Martial
    Sancho

    That's the 11 I'd go for.

I'd let Eriksen play further ahead rather than Bruno as we need some level of control over the 90 mins.

Eriksen will start instead of McTominay. It's funny how one game can change things so quickly. Suddenly I look at that team and I think it's not half bad.

We're doing that the week after. Leicester midweek and then Arsenal on Sunday. Bullshit scheduling as Arsenal get to play Wednesday & Sunday

Hopefully Martial replicates his full debut for us which was away to Southampton with 2 goals

Bring Casemerio in for Mctom and Martial in for Elanga. Otherwise same team be a different challenge to Liverpool we will have to play through there press to get a foothold and push them back i feel, weather we can or not Will be interesting to see.

    Martial
    Rashford Bruno Sancho
    Eriksen McTominay
    Malacia Martinez Varane Dalot
    De Gea

Trapp Maguire Wan-Bissaka Casemiro Fred Van de Beek Elanga Antony Gakpo

Casemiro, Antony, Gakpo, Van de Beek, Wan-Bissaka

I think Fred will start with Casemiro

    Based on what?

I like Fred but he's done absolute nothing to deserve to start.

Started our first two league games, in which he was hooked on both occasions at half time and didn't start yesterday.

No way he should be starting but certainly someone useful to bring on if needed.

I think we be dragged right back down to earth with a loss.

I hope I'm wrong but it's just typical United. Play unreal beat a big team and the following game is polar opposite.

    Southampton 2 - 0 Man Utd

Just a guess based on the fact that Eriksen played 90 mins yesterday and also a way to ease Casemiro in by playing him with someone he is used to in midfield.

This is our annual August visit to Southampton and I think any result other than 1-1 is not allowed.

    4-2-3-1
same back 5 as last night. Casimero, Fred, Rashford Bruno Sancho, Martial.

Not going for a prediction but I'd say it is very important for us to win this -- almost must-win -- to show Liverpool wasn't a one-off and that we are learning and progressing and adapting to what ETH wants. If we lose, it's another long run on Sunday for the lads ha ha

I bloody hope the bin dippers game is not another false new dawn and we revert back to type in this match.

We should win this quite comfortably, they're dog shit at this moment relegation material.

Hasenhuttel should be one of the first managers to get the sack, not his fault as the squad he's left working is less than stellar to say the least.

Don't take 2 steps back after last night.

Intensity, get the basics right! And ffs don't give free kicks away within 25 yards of goal.

Martial, Rashford and Sancho should be fecking chomping to get at these.
