Hardly. Herrera was missing out in game after game when he was obviously the most appropriate option. Schneiderlin's up against two of the best midfielders of their generation, Schweinsteiger and Carrick, he was never going to play every game.That's a bloody attacking line up. He's such a troll. True, but he was excellent in it last season. I think the Brugge first half had more to do with it being his first game back in the side that the position. He looked rusty and he was trying too hard (unsurprisingly, given how LVG likes to bench him!) Even if it's not his best position, he's still capable of being very good there. I think it shows LVG's growing faith in Schweinsteiger (odd sentence, that!). He trusts him to keep things solid and sensible with a more attacking partner next to him.
Never complain about an attacking line-up, anyway. That side screams Manchester United.

Great lineup. Didn't see that coming.No Wilson on the bench is my only slight disappointment. But then looking at the bench I'm not entirely sure who I'd drop for him. a GK, a CB, a CB/LB, a RB/RW, Carrick, Schneiderlin, and Fellaini. Fellaini might have been shite as a starting striker but he's a must-have option if we need a plan B late in the game. I suppose theoretically you don't need both Carrick and Schneiderlin, but then again both have been excellent this season and neither would be happy being dropped for a youngster in our first proper CL tie.
So it's hard to really complain. Shame though.9/11. Didn't expect Martial or Memphis to start. So excited about Martial starting though! Can't wait! We are back!- Status
