Don't know why the commentator keeps saying he isn't looking at the ball as he is. Sorry but that's a pen.

On the replay it genuinely looks like he has looked at the ball and then jumped with his arm extended to block it. The commentators are saying you need to raise your arms to jump for the ball, but it doesn't look at all like that's what he was really doing. Clear penalty.

Anyone else sick of seeing Rooney coming deep to do one of his infamous 957 yrd diagonal pass to the right. Stay in the box you lump!

Just saw the replay again. That's a clear penalty. Complete brain fart by the defender. We're not lucky it was given, we are lucky the defender is such a bell-end.

The more I see it, the more it looks like a penalty. I mean, he does block a header on target with his arm that is extended well away from his body.

And whilst he may not be looking (though he sort of does at the last minute) he'll know his arm is out and high up...

I sure hope that Robbie Savage doesn't drown in his own tears the poor dear. I mean that much crying is bound to cause a safety hazard. And it would be just awful if his unceasing whining caused to him to bite his own tongue in half.

Never a penalty, but we deserve some push otherwise can't see us scoring.

The ball was going towards goal. I can't see how there's even a debate here. The defending player was in a bad position to challenge for the header, he cannot then fully outstretch his arm to make up the difference, then block a goalbound shot with it and claim innocence because he wasn't looking and it wasn't deliberate.

Looking at that replay it probably is. His arms are outstretched as if he's trying to grab Fellaini. Still soft

Hoddle just realised that's a pen, you can tell in his voice, won't admit it though will make him look a prick.

I can't believe people are saying that isn't a pen. The defender literally sees the ball, realises he isn't making it and outstretches his arm towards the ball?!

He's either trying to swat the ball away or poke Fellaini in the eyeball. There is no reason for his arm to be up like that. I'd understand his hand being there if he was jumping

That's how I see it as well.

Whose this twat on BT sports who refuses to back down on the fact its a penalty. The guy looks twice at Fellaini and extends his arm further to make sure his arm is stopping Fellaini and because of that it stops the ball from hitting the target. Obvious pen.

Feels like we're happy to sit back and look for counter opportunities. If it isn't there we'll play our possession footy.

What is this sorcery? Nice one.

I know, imagine celebrating a goal. Madness.
3 in 3 jubilations are what's annoying. Wowwwie world class golazos from rewnayy.

Delighted we are winning but he's still a nothing player. Will penalty his way to the record though.

Having seen the replay I think it is a penalty, he knew what he was doing and didn't have to have his arm up like that

I think the word they use is deliberate, but not sure it counts as much as 'unnatural position', I think that's their brief.
There's nothing in the laws of the game about an "unnatural position", it's all about if it was deliberate or not. Referees take massive liberties with the handball rule

How is that not a clear pen? His hand is up stretched in front of him and it hits his palm. He doesn't use his arms for elevation in his jump, he barely even leaves the floor.

It wasn't intentional but it doesn't need to be, it was daft having his hands up like that.

I'm listening on talk sport and they are saying clear pen. Haven't seen it myself but from what they described. It sounds like a fair penalty.
