3-0, yet I get the sense that a lot of people here aren't pleased with our showing?

I get it, for large parts of the game we've looked less sharp than we'd like, but feck me, the likes of Fergie presided over this lot knocking us out... don't be such greedy sons of bitches.
Really? I thought we've been pretty good without having to get out of second gear.

The only reason Mkhitaryan should be subbed instead of Martial or Mata is because of his physical condition, not surely due to his performance. All our game passed through him, even if he lost it some times.

This is the thing with him, he loses the ball again and again and again but he also does most of our stuff.

Meh performance on a meh night with a meh team....meh weather.

    Martial is meh...

Team is still a work in progress too.

3 points and a clean sheet so happy days

Mkhi will lose the game a lot because he tries so much to create goal scoring chances. I don't see the problem people have with him.
Of course, it's like they blame him for trying.

    Yes.

We just returned from the international break, had a tough game at Stoke and will have another tough one this weekend, and Pogba injured. What matters is winning the first game, and we're winning it convincingly.

Just throwing this out there, people have to realize/acknowledge Mikhi just isn't a CL calibre player especially for a top club in the world like United. His track record speaks for itself as harsh as that may seem. Love the guy but stating facts.

Brilliant player who shows flashes here and there at times but I think it's safe to say he's better suited for the league/EPL where his inconsistency can fly a bit more but not in the CL where it's exposed.

Fwiw Mikhi in all Champions League competitions (including qualifiers),

    Games Played: 44
    Minutes Played: 3433
    Goals: 4
    Assists: 0
    Average minutes per game: 78
    Goals per game average: 0.091
    Assists per game average: 0.22

...just not good enough and after today, it'll be 45 games and those numbers will drop more. Kind of self explanatory why José is after Griezmann and wants a higher quality player who'll get on the score sheet more often. Imho Mikhi long term will be best suited as a super sub coming off the bench just as Rashford is atm.

Apparently not because they're full pros and they can play for 120 minutes straight and don't lose focus, etc., bla bla bla.

I'm still hurting as you can see.

The caf's an odd place sometimes. The defenders won't be clapped out wheezing on the floor, but how would a fresh Rashford/Martial not give them an extra problem?

Can't believe I'm saying this but fellaini came in and changed the game for us. 10/10 performance

Well it is a problem when he loses the ball so the other team almost scores.

Reading this thread there's been plenty of pissing and moaning. I completely agree with you, I'll take low-key wins at the early stage of the season, easy.

    Sir Alex looking good.

second half was boring in places, the whole match was not anything to set the world alight.
A win and a good one at that was the order of the day.
Young and Fellaini both excellent with Fellaini Man of the Match.
A job well done is difficult conditions.

Great win to be able to get when the team wasn't its sharpest.

Signs/ability all great teams have had.

Mourinho always has that "I'm sorry" twinge on his face when we win at Old Trafford

Good. Job done. Now we can enjoy Sevilla beating Pool tomorrow:D
