Looking at those players for Everton I'm trying to figure out a formation and it looks like it will be a 5-1-4?

    -----------------------------------Pickford----------------------------------------
    Coleman---Keane--------Mina-------------Holgate-----Digne
    -----------------------------------Davies----------------------------------
    Bernard--------Lewin-----------------Richarlson------Iwobi

Not sure exactly what Duncan is doing here. Do they have that many injuries? He doesn't even have a centre midfielder on the bench???

Everton, on paper at least, are playing with a 1-man midfield. Strange.

Not sure how this is gonna work, can any of Bernard, Calvert-Lewin, Richalison or Iwobi play centre mid?

Unless Holgate is playing DM and they go

    Pickford
    Coleman Keane Mina Digne
    Davies Holgate
    Bernard Calvert-Lewin Iwobi
    Richarlison

I don't think this will be straightforward. Everton line up looks like it could be dangerous on the break.

    HOOOOOOOOF!

I forgot to do the line-up prediction but it's a shame Shaw has just slipped straight back in so now we have no attacking threat from either fullback. The rest is as expected, although Greenwood is unlucky not to get in after bagging 2 the other night, he's sharper than James in the attack.

But James creates 2 or 3 very good chances per game and absolutely terrifies defences like nobody else.

Martial has a good record against Everton and I’m backing him to score today.

I’m actually so nervous for this game today. I really think this is a huge game, win and win well and we will have some real momentum. Lose and the negativity will be unbearable and will make the Christmas period less exciting. Just hope Rashford continues his excellent form because I don’t think they can stop him on that form.

Low block and hoof ball to the pacey attackers.

I don't think they've set out to play with the ball at all. With only one legitimate midfielder the idea, I imagine, is to sit with five at the back with Davies in front, and then Bernard, Lewin, Richarlyson and Iwobi essentially act as four counter-attacking forwards, with Coleman and Digne bombing forward in the process. I don't expect Everton to play with the ball. In fact, I imagine they'll willingly cede it to us.

Yep, they will Hoof The Ball over the top

This will most certainly not be easy and anyone thinking that haven't paid much attention.

Yep. No reason we can't catch City as long as we're within eight points of them. They've got to beat Arsenal (snigger), but if they don't, and we win, it's only 5-6 points difference.
I think you're both getting carried away. It wasn't that long ago that we only managed a total of two points against Sheffield United and Aston Villa.

Was about to post and quote the nonsense Macari said on pitchside but after seeing that clip of him in tears talking about his son's death in the podcast, I'll skip that. Must have been horrible.

Whoever didn't get 11/11 should be ashamed of themselves. :)

Watching pre-game training now (broadcast starts like 1.5hours before the game), Everton guys look nervous. Man Utd are not even on the pitch currently

What did he say? And did he lose his son recently?

I am getting carried away, which is unusual, however, since I have a mongo toothache on a Sunday and half-way between a flu virus and zombie state, you will have to forgive me for the sudden bout of optimism.

Most definitely not straightforward as evidenced by our draw against villa.

IMO us dropping points here would be extremely typical of us as I am still not convinced we are a good team. We shall see.

I just hope we still play with speed on the counter when we get a chance as we did against city even if Everton will tend to sit back.

    6-0 win today

    Martial x 3
    Rashford x 2
    Jamesx 1

Will this be one of those games where Coleman becomes the right-sided Roberto Carlos once more, only to fade into mediocrity until the next United tie?

No way you should be losing this game. We have one fit CM now from the first team. Gomes, Delph, Schneiderlin, Gbamin and Gylfi all injured or sick ffs.

Gutting aswell after a good performance last week. Get a draw and I’ll be delighted.

Relieved to see Gylfi not involved to get his customary goals against us.

Don't have anything against Everton, but we need all 3 points today

Even with our questionable midfield (it has been better recently), we should be dominating in there against... Tom Davies by himself?

I'd expect Everton are going for death by clearances.
