    This is the real world and elite professional sport at that. If someone replaces you and does not deserved to be dropped you should not automatically get your spot back. It's not like he is being sacked for taking paternity leave.

    In which case the decision is based on merit, which is fine. If Henderson deserves to start then Henderson deserves to start.

    There's a difference between that and dropping someone because they took parental leave, which is what I read the post I was responding to as suggesting when they said "he should get benched for the absence". As if him taking parental leave was in and of itself a mark against him.

    Lets pray it is. The sight of “McFred” in the starting lineup kills any excitement I have for the game because I know it’s gonna be a chore.

    Why's Ole letting the players know 3.5 hours before who's playing?! Surely keep it until an hour before so everyone stays focused and mentally prepared.

    Oh yes - Danny Welbeck with 75 goals in his entire career at the age of 30 is a better striker than Martial. It's ok to criticize without being deluded

    You don't think the players find out who is playing that late...do you? They'll know the day before if not earlier then that. Maybe this is a joke that's gone well over my tiny head!
     
    Mostly our best lineup but I would have preferred Scott ahead of Fred. Should be a comfortable win though.

    Pedantic but it’s a good point. Why put Henderson at the head and the numerical order the rest? There’s zero logic to it. It’s like they’ve gone “well he’s definitely the goalkeeper so he’s first but I’m stumped on the rest“
     
    I guess the goalie is a toss up but that's pretty much the strongest team, minus Bailly I guess.
     
    Not happy with Fred starting but at least 1 of the chuckle brothers 2.0 has been dropped. Early goal important here. I’m going 3-1. Fancy Cavani & Mason to score today.

    Ole kept Henderson thats a good sign, perfect line up we win this one. I expect Bruno to run the show.

    I don’t see the point of designated squad numbers other than just to sell shirts. Just do 1-11. If your favourite player is a starter chances are he’s gonna wear the same number every game anyway so you can still buy his shirt.
