    We've got two over-the-hill wingers at FB, and two young strikers on the wing, and a no10 who cant create anything, where the hell has £600m been spent on this team?

    Bunch of idiots - all of them. They are very happy to behind the ball instead of running into the box to score goals. Do these morons not watch top teams play?

    Mourinho needs to sell half of the squad - they are not hungry enough.
     
    Hughton is a good manager and Albion are a solid team. They've been putting in a very solid shift so far.

    They gave City a good match for 70 minutes when those two sides met on opening day.

    Mkhi helped us to control games with his work in the middle of the park. He might have lost a little confidence in the last few weeks but he is one player who is able to do it.
     
    I feel if you play Rashford and Martial then you must have a 3-man midfield. Let's finally deploy Matic/Pogba/Fellaini
     
    Brighton have been very difficult to breakdown. Our attack is such that we require space to play a counter attacking game. We just don't have the attacking nous to break them down with intricate passing and movement. If the first half is anything to go by I think this game will be a draw.
     
    If you want to play a front three of Martial–Lukaku–Rashford, then Mata is not your playmaker (nor Mkhitaryan, probably).
     
    Apart from de Gea, Young and Lindelof the team needs a wake up call at HT.

    The only player in front of Mata is Lukaku and he is not that good in holding up play. He then has to look for alternatives. Should ditch Rashford on the right and bring him next to Lukaku as the second striker with Mata a bit further behind. Valencia should cover the right.

    Right now, it looks like the players are not interested in getting the ball. No one opens themselves up to receive the ball. We might be one of the teams who play the ball in between the defenders the most and then lump it to the wing. No creativity at all.
     
    Jose doesn't play Rashford and Martial together, we said he lacks balls and that he doesn't like Martial. He plays them together and they don't click, we say Jose didn't coach them well and he has no idea about how a team should attack and score.
    He plays Miki, we say he is kissing the Armenian's behind when Mata should be playing as our number 10. He benches Miki, plays Mata who fails to spark, we say Jose lacks tactical know how.

    Nothing to disagree here. Let's assume Lukaku is just burned out and needs some time off football.

    There zero chemistry in the team this half. Players not knowing where to be or what runs to make. He might pop up with a goal every now and again but we need someone better than Mata, or Mkhi, in the 10 position.
     
    Mkhitaryan should have started, even if he was going to get drowned in the middle that Brighton 5 midfield players. Martial should have been rested to start Watford away.

    Everything has to be pinpoint to feet instead of in to space. That means players have to stop to take the ball losing valuable seconds. It should take less than 15 seconds from box to box on a swift counter, it takes that long for Mata to get it over the half way. This is why we need proper wing backs.
     
    Too risky to bring Zlatan on at HT. Way way too risky with his injury surely.
     
    I think Mourinho is trying to prove a point - that Rashford and Martial cannot play together.
    Mata is like a old man panting when he is chasing down the opponents. Matic looks rusty.
    Never play Mata in this type of game as he cannot tackle and is quite chicken in his challenges.
    Nobody except Pogba is confident enough to turn with the ball facing his own goal and attack. This caused the attack to slow down whenever they passed back. To improve, time to bring on Mkhitaryan and Felliani for Mata and Rashford and Ibrahimovic for Lukaku later.

    It's incredible that Young has been our best attacking player thus far. Lukaku, Mata and Martial all need to step it up a lot. I don't think Ibra will solve the basic lack of movement from our front players, seems they're holding very fixed positions, mainly being stood right behind an opposing defender.
     
    The problem is not the players, it is the coaching. How about trying a bit more variety on the crosses, make the play quicker. Players have to wait to see where the players are and the play is slowed down because of that. A good attacking team will know where their teammates are going to make runs, which areas to play the ball in.

    This is just poor attacking coaching.

    Yeah, but with Fellaini and Herrera as options? Last season Herrera, maybe, but Fellaini is high long balls route like today.

    It would also help if Valencia actually pushes up when attacking so that Rashford can go more inward. But if Jose takes Mata off and plays Zlatan in his plays I gurantee our attacking play through the central areas will improve.

    Nah Mourinho actually needs to learn how these top teams get coached by good coaches and do the same with our squad or at least hire a decent coach like SAF used to do.
