Bollocks, nobody would have batted an eye lid. We could be playing Barcelona and it would still make sense to rest players. It's not about the opposition, it's a dead rubber for both teams, and every other team in the league.

I remember when we first played Barcelona in the final, SAF said he made a mistake in the preparation by resting the whole team in their previous game, so next time around he didn't rest them before the next final. Admittedly the result was still the same but there's a certain logic to not resting everyone too.

According to espn, rooney, lingard and carrick are on 4 yellows, don't they get suspended if it reaches 5?

Surely the 5 card limit was passed about 5months ago! And you'd have had to get 10 to get a suspension!

Otherwise, it's a been dam unreasonable expecting a player to go all season with no more than 4 yellows.

I am disappointed. He didn't set his team up for 19-0 nor did he set it up bearing in mind the Cup final

I would have rested De Gea, Smalling and Martial. De Gea doesn't need the game for sharpness and Martial only just had an injury.

Oh well the game should be very tame.

De Gea's last game at home though.

    Not really. Probably.

 If that was the case then most players would get suspended every season.

Cut-off for 5 yellows was December 31. Cut-off for 10 yellows was second weekend in April.

My ignorance of the rules knows no boundaries.

Why is he risking the first team players tonight? Surely we would have been better served playing 5 or 6 reserve team players.

    Old Trafford is 'dead'
“It’s less than an hour before kick-off and Old Trafford is dead. The ground usually starts to fill up about 45 minutes before the game but there’s hardly anyone inside the ground. There are a few fans dotted about but that’s it. It’s understandable. The game has been arranged at short notice and, on top of that, watching United has become something of a chore. It hasn’t been entertaining at the best of times and there’s almost nothing riding on tonight’s game. It’s going to make for a very weird atmosphere.”

He was always going to pick the strongest line up, its LVG

    This will annoy some.

Tonight is another example when asking if LVG 'gives youth a chance.' fecking pillock

Feel sorry for the U-21's who I presume will get their trophy tonight(was supposed to happen at half-time on Sunday) and there's anyone there.

    View from the south stand
As Rob said earlier, it’s not unusual for the stadium to look this sparse with 30 to go until kick-off but the rearranged date isn’t the only reason why people will be staying away tonight.

What's up with Schneiderlin? Really hope that Pereira gets the chance today, he's really deserved after his performances for the reserves. Good to see Young back on the bench too. Lets fecking end the season on a high.

Morgan is ill. Probably sick of LvG.
