    We're fecked actually.

If we lose, it better be convincingly. Rather than us playing well and getting fecked by ref.

No reason not to be looking forward to the game (which wasn't always the case this season).
Should be a big night, expecting a tight game and us going through.

    2-1

    Luis Suarez OG '14
    Griezmann '88
    Luis Suarez OG 90+7

An early atletico red card leading to a converted penalty is the only way id slightly relax. We simply don't win games comfortably ever let alone cl knockout. I expect a rotten evening

He’s been good at the shot stopping part only. His distribution has been woeful, still way too passive, sticks to his line, and doesn’t have any mettle about him (see his kick vs Man City when he went down in a heap, and the same vs Arsenal). At least with Henderson we get a player who is a good shot stopper but is a bit more proactive.
I dont remember who it was vs Tottenham, but they took a free kick and it hovered close to the 6 yard box but he just stood there

That's our Dave alright. We've been spoiled over the decades with the likes of big Pete, VDS and even Barthez, who'd come out, claim the ball and flatten anybody dumb enough to be in the way.
Now we have Dave, who stands on his line with knees shivering like a new born foal.

Got a feeling we're in for a proper European night like the Roma 7-1 job

    Looking forward to this one.
Easy to forget how good that squad was - Ronaldo, Rooney, a prime Scholes and Carrick, a vintage Ryan Giggs, Rio, Vidic, Evra.

Now its a 45 year old Ronaldo and inshallah.

We had a brick wall defence back then, now it's like a couple of sheets of tinfoil with some masking tape.

CL nights used to get me excited about the football, atmosphere and occasion. Now, I’m kind of expecting us to whimper out without so much a fight or show any real passion.
I expect to get knocked out tonight and await the players apology tweets in due course - they always make me feel better, knowing they believe they did put effort in.

I can't remember the last big occasion this club turned up.
    I do not expect anything.

Think the introduction of Matic, Wan-Bissaka and Elanga really helped in the first leg. Gave us that much needed balance, so I wouldn't be surprised if those three featured at some point in the game.

I do think; however, that Elanga should be used as an impact sub, as he was used in the first leg, with Pogba pushing up for that creativity. Also, now that McTominay is back, I'd put him back in for that energy, with Matic potentially coming on later in the game to give us sme composure. Because of that, I think we will see something like:

    Ronaldo
    Pogba Bruno Sancho
    Fred McTominay
    Telles Maguire Varane Wan-Bissaka
    De Gea

That 45 yo Ronaldo bagged a hattrick the other day don't forget. He's still got it ;)

With you on the squad comparison, though. What I'd give to have Evra, Vidic and Rio in our backline again. We've shelled out £400 million on the likes of Darmian, Bailly, Blind, Maguire, Shaw, Lindelof, Dalot, Rojo and AWB as replacements, not one of them was good enough. Shameful.

Nothing other than a 5-0 win or greater will suffice.

I reckon we should already start a postmatch thread since we're losing anyways.

We can safely slag off rashford and maguire at the least. Ronaldo could be tricky though.

Then head to pogba and bruno thread because they went missing again in a big game.

Big games are made for big players, I expect a great game from Cristiano, Varane and Sancho.

Im hopefull Maguire will have a great game as well and will only gift them one goal.

    Big day today

Cholo will have them fired up as usual. Expecting them to score early, then sit back and defend like their lives depended on it, plus throw in the usual cnuty tactics from them.

Funnily enough, this shouldn't be far from reality.

What about pogba and bruno ?

I dont think Bruno will start, and Pogba is not the kind of player who carries their team mates. But name by name we have at least 5-6 "big game" players, hopefully champions league magic can inspire them.

Bricking it, but buzzing, wish I hadn't given up the drink for Lent, only so much that tea does for you!

2-1 Utd, we never make it easy on ourselves but Ronnie has their number, Atletico aren't the team they were either.

Is it bad that if we lose I’d have a little bit of “not feeling as bad” because it means we won’t get spanked in a following round?

Of course it's bad! You have the ability to beat anyone on their day, you have weapons that can scare even the best sides in Europe ( The only problem is that you also have weapons that can misfire and blow your own face off).

Look at that Liverpool side of 2005, Man for man you guys piss all over that team.

Stranger things have and will happen than United going all the way.

Most excited I’ve been for a game in a long while. Im hoping the lads show up and show out. They owe the supporters a good game after a shit season.
