Honestly massive props to this team and manager if we win today. I think Arsenal will come out absolutely flying and overwhelm us depressingly early. Feel like they usually take an early lead in this fixture, even when they were crap.

Whilst I trust ETH to have a plan, cant help but to think that having luxuries like Antony at the expense of the solidity Fred's inclusion would have given us, may be a mistake!

McT scares me in Midfield but Fred and Eriksen as the double pivot is also a bit light weight.

Our bench is looking weak too.

My fear is Arsenal will come out of the block firing and we might be a couple of goals down before we know it

I was hoping we'd switch to a 3 with Shaw LCB to add a little bit more cover in Casemiro's absence

It’s actually ridiculous Fred isn’t starting this I fecking hate mctominay.

Non-existent midfield. Just the thought of McTominay going against Partey and Odeegard fills me with feelings of dread and foreboding. If in 2020 you told me Scott McTominay would still be starting games for Manchester United in 2023, I wouldn't have believed you. Yes, I get it, there is no one else. That's the problem. And then there's Eriksen, who has struggled with the intensity of these games. Why is Fred not starting when he's very good in these games?

We are in for a hiding.

The problem is more with Eriksen than McTominay in this game though both will be chasing shadows till Fred comes on when it's already too late.

Didn't knew Martial was injured again. We need to get rid he's useless always either injured or coming back from injury never fully fit.

I don't think he's played the whole 90 in any match this season.

If EtH thinks it’s the right call I’m fully behind it.

McT to put in a worldie of a performance and it’ll be a 2-1 smash n grab, let’s have it

Well Wout has to put himself about but we may miss the pace to get in behind their high line
Would have to assume he will drop a bit deeper and try to find Antony/Rashford with their pace.

Fred will be on for Eriksen after 60 mins. The hope is we’re still in the game by that point

Our bench. Jesus Christ. Bunch of kids plus Fred and Maguire. We don’t have the money. We need attacking options and people still scoff at the likes of Reus who is though 33 but can still do a more than decent job for 4 months.

That’s their usual game plan - fierce press in the first 30 minutes in order to kill the game off, then a considerable intensity drop. We need to hold them off in the first half if we want anything from the game.

This starting 11 is what I picked , Fred will play his part, ETH could have gone with 4-3-3 like City game . Weghorst has a big part today on how we keep the ball today, he needs to hold it keep it and not lose possession. Mctom has big job to do as well. If its 0-0 with 15 to go I be OK with that. Or even 1 up is better. Let's see how it goes.

    Come on lads ......

Antony is only a "luxury" in an attacking sense, his ball retention and defensive work is actually pretty good

Id prefer Fred over McTom but im ok with the rest.

We have always complained that we put out a defensive line up against the big sides, for once our manager is saying we are good enough to compete with our own normal formation.

    That's the spirit!

It's almost like there is difference between moaning and constructive forum conversation.
There’s plenty of constructive conversation. Your post moaning about people moaning is just as reductive.

Huge chance for Mctominay maybe the last to prove he can be a part of this team going forward. He has to have a big game here to show he can do it under this manager.

McT masterclass incoming and his many doubters …of whom I am doubter in chief….to eat shit happily!

This midfield is gonna get overrun. Should’ve had Lisandro in midfield for Casemiro and Fred for Eriksen. Shaw at CB and Malacia LB. Rasford on top with Garnacho out wide for the counter. Easy sunday afternoon coming up for the Gunners i’m afraid.

Nothing constructive or anything close to about calling your manager decision pathetic and giving up on the game in advance.
