Suspiciously sounds like a play to get Real to settle his tax bill.

Is there any scenario where he could get a pay bump from a move to us? He's already on obscene wages.

I do believe that Woody and the Glazers would push the boat out to make this happen. I mean push the entire fleet out.

24 pages already  This is gonna be a long summer.

IF he leaves Madrid, United will do everything in their power to bring him back. I believe that. He can go onto become our record goal scorer and single handedly win us more trophies. Plus the shirt sales and commercial aspects of it would make United a fortune.

Plus the number 7 shirt is free :drool:

God I said I wasn't going to get my hopes up!

If Ronaldo coming back meant Jose would get the sack.... would you take it?

Mods can you start a poll , if fans would be interested to get him back.

Personally I feel he will stay and resolve the issue.

I'm no legal expert, obviously, but sounds like nonsense to me. Players aren't that rich that they can afford the kind of release clauses they have.

I am going to take offense.:D

Here you have the precedent, basically the player had a 30m clause but the judge said that based on the player's wage and based on the letter of the law the clause is abusive, the court looked at the market and basically said that the 30m were ludicrous and reduced it to 5m.

Imagine how sickened Rooney would be if Ronaldo came back and broke his record after spending 8 of his peak years at Real!

The translation job is garbage, I'd need more info and context to make any sense of it.

If that's accurate and more importantly binding then all release clauses would be redundant. There must have been something unusual about that specific case because there is no way release clauses are affordable for players.

I reckon it would take around 4 or 5 years for Ronaldo to achieve the same numbers than Rooney

PS: My bad, forgot to take in consideration the 118 goals he already has for MU. 3y should be enough

At the rate this is going at least it will be over quick. Madrid will not hold him back if it's clear he wants to leave. It's better to treat it like a band-aid. The last thing they would want is a whole summer of Ronaldo pouting.

That said there are two outcomes for me:

A) He stays in Madrid after 2 days max of Madrid finding a way to fix his tax issues
B) He moves to PSG who will be the only team offering the money he wants and the money Madrid want (Unless he and Mourinho made up somehow in recent years)

Put me in coach

I was under the impression Mourinho and Ronaldo don't get on at all?

If Jose is opposed to Ronaldo the only reason would be that he would feel threatened by the arrival of someone who has far more equity with the fans than he has earned with his league cup and UEFA cup. Otherwise Mourinho needs trophies to resurrect his reputation after the Chelsea debacle and Ronaldo is the closest you can get to basically buying a major trophy.

China or United if he goes anyone else seriously risks breaching FFP in astronomical fashion.

Look at the highest revenue incomes of clubs in Europe who are in the top we top it with only Real and Barcelona anywhere near us.

The reason he wont go to China NOW is the fact that he is still competing for the Ballon d'or with Messi. If he goes to China and even if he scores 100 goals I dont think he will get it just cause he aint competing in Europe. His ego wont sit well with that. Maybe three years down the road? Maybe for that one last paycheck.
